List of Alternatives to the Android Marketplace

I've been trawling around the net looking for alternative places to submit Android apps to and have compiled this list. 99.99% are untested, I'll be trying them out over the next few months. If anyone has any others, feel free to add them, and if anyone has experience of any of the sites, please post your findings! They're primarily Android, but there are a few cross platforms, and I've tried to find the links directly to developer pages to make it a bit easier :-) https://developer.amazon.com/welcome.html http://apps.opera.com/gb/developers.php http://developer.getjar.com/ http://mall.soc.io/Home http://www.handango.com/info/Partner.jsp?storeId=2218 http://www.ubi-nuri.com/ http://corporate.mobihand.com/developers.asp http://appoke.com/info/developers http://slideme.org/application-promoter http://www.appstorehq.com/developers/about http://yaam.mobi/ http://www.heyzap.com/mobile_developers/dashboard http://www.camangimarket.com/main3.html http://developer.samsung.com/developmentOverview.do http://dev.hicloud.com/en/ http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/developers-info http://developer.lgmobile.com/lge.mdn.bus.RetrieveBizProposalOverview.dev http://www.aproov.com/en-us/developers http://applanet.net/uploader/ http://f-droid.org/ (code must be open source) http://corp.nexva.com/content-providers https://www.bazaarandroid.com/application/new http://pdassi.de/user/apply2.php?lang=en https://www.andapponline.com/developer/register http://www.androidtapp.com/login/developer-signup/ http://appstoreconnect.com/publish/ http://www.apptown.com/Add_App.html https://dev.appia.com/ http://developer.mikandi.com/ (**adult content**)

Took the last one on your list here's what I found. http://wp.me/p1ZRa7-6I Summary: Interesting concept Is Appia for real? Are those real urls? If not, how did they do that? Be very careful. Very careful! Alexa Rank 192,468 I think I'll stick with Android Market. :-)

Brilliant Post Fred, thank you. Exactly what I was hoping for. If we just end up with a list of half a dozen or so good sites it'll be of benefit. I know that the below are good genuine sites, it's the rest that I'm hoping for feedback on. https://developer.amazon.com/welcome.html http://developer.getjar.com/ http://www.heyzap.com/mobile_developers/dashboard http://dev.hicloud.com/en/ http://developer.mikandi.com/ (**adult content**)

Review of app town. http://www.apptown.com Ok site, terribly un developed. Lots of promise, maybe someday. Did find an interesting app under tools. Screeshot.jar Supposedly it'll video record your app on device or emulator. If this app works, I'd give them a five***** rating for this app alone. Unfortunately I didn't find much else. Alexa Rank 1,661,880

There's an English version. Link is top middle of site, next to the 'help' text. Plenty more info in the translation. Don't know how accurate it is though.

Androidtapp.com review Found two review of Androidtapp. One was friendly and discussed their model. The other was basically informative. Neither was able to quantify the strength of Androidtapp. Their Alexa rank is 27,014 Fred

If your time and energy for submitting apps to apps stores is limited and you are not strapped for funds then http://www.codengo.com/ Might be a useful service. Fred

Hi, Has anyone had any success with any of the above markets? My experience of opera was that there were very few downloads. John.
