Offline Map Tutorial: Route-Me (Alpstein Fork) and BT iOS

iOS only. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/OSMBT/BT_Alpstein.pdf This is not the same tutorial as before, although they look quite similar. The original (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/OSMBT/BT_RouteMe.pdf) dealt with the original 'Route-Me' on Github. The 'Alpstein' fork is an updated version, with many improvements over the original. Better memory handling, faster map display, better marker annotations, and no warnings or errors in this edition. Requires iOS 4.3 or better (I used 5.1 for my base testing) As usual, please point out the glaring errors to me. And this was a bit of a chore, getting it to work. It's absolutely NOT the same as the original route me; the code used is far different, and much undocumented. A royal pain, frankly. But if things seem disconnected, let me know so I can clean it up. Pay attention to the details; I may not have highlighted everything, and everything (mentioned) is important if you want it to work. Cheers! -- Smug

Thanks, I had stopped mid-way on the original RouteMe when I hit the colossal 20+ page PDF. I will give this one a go in a few weeks. -- Niraj

That looks super sweet! Just scanned the document, but it looks very well written. I LOVE mapping stuff, so I'll be giving this a very close look. I have tons of offline mapping projects in mind, and this might come in very useful. Great work! Mark

Let me know if you have any questions, Mark. Your stuff has saved me countless hours of pain and suffering; it's the least I could do! Cheers! -- Smug
