Your app requires additional review time

I've had them approved, I've had them rejected. This is a new one for me... I got my email notificiation of 'app under review'. 24 hours later, still no update. Then I got this: Dear.... We are currently reviewing an app that you submitted for inclusion on the App Store, and want to let you know that the review process will require additional time. We apologize for the delay and will provide you with an update on the status of your app as soon as possible. I'm not sure if it's good news or bad news. I'll let you know. Cheers! -- Smug

Hello Smug, Would it be possible to post verbatim, the various responses we may receive from the App Store like the one you just posted, so for those of us who have not yet published an App know what to expect. Plus a rough turn around time for the approval or rejection responses. Thanks Ed

Well they were nice enough to give you a heads up instead of waiting two weeks for a rejection :)

Usually it's a 'yes', or 'no' with qualifications. You can typically expect it to take 7-10 days after submission before it gets to a reviewer... depends on the workload, I guess. The last rejection, the email had a subject line of "App submission feedback" which means "we've got a problem with this". The text of the email said: Your app KPRG has been reviewed, but we are unable to post this version. For details, or to directly contact the App Review team, visit the Resolution Center in iTunes Connect. Do not reply to this email. The 'resolution center' will have the details on why. Cheers! -- Smug (and the rejection was due to soliticitation of donations from within the app, as noted on a different post about a week ago or so...)

Smug Never had luck with this response .. Thinking it always a legal team review and it too forever -weeks- and I got the big reject.. The nice thing is I got a reason why and also a phone call from apple and spoke to the reviewer on fixing the issue

I had a message like this for a client-app which was a collection of Casino type of games. I guessed that they had to check the contracts and legal stuff. It took more than A FULL MONTH to get the go ahead but it was approved. Farcat

I got the same e-mail 7 days after making my first submission for a card casino game. A couple of days went by with no contact/update so I e-mailed asked what was wrong and the following day (next business day in America I think) I got a call from Apple with the news I'd been rejected. But the lady on the phone was really nice and helpful and it was just a couple of small issues I need to fix. One was to remove a word reference to Google and the other was to make the in-app purchase for the no-ads version from consumerable to non-consumerable. She was even nice enough to put my app on the "expedite list" so when I resubmit I don't have to go to the back of the queue. As far as rejections go, this is the nicest one I've ever had!

@Mike, Subsequently they 'did' approve the app in question. But they held on to it for a couple of days first... purportedly to check on something relating to copyrights. Fortunately we were cleared. Cheers! -- Smug

I figured that's what mine is all about. Mine is a custom app with custom graphics and sounds, and it's a free app with no in app purchases. But I'm expecting the worst, unfortunately.

Honestly, it's always good to expect the worst from Apple; if you get denied, it's as expected. But if you get approved, it's a wonderous feeling, lol! Best of Luck! Cheers! -- Smug
