Cannot make a tabbed menu!

A while ago I created an app without a tabbed layout and am now trying to change it so that it has tabs. Problem is, whenever I put in some tabs and go to run the app on the simulator nothing comes up! Black screen! Not even the splash screen appears. If I swap back to a non-tabbed layout it is all fine again. I think the problem may be that when I first created the app I deleted the default home page and replaced it with my own (which I designated under the non-tabbed layout). Now when I try to make a tabbed layout it can't find the default page that I deleted so nothing comes up. Can anyone help me? I have made an app with a tabbed layout that works, so I cannot work out why this one doesn't.

Make sure you don't have anything filled in for the non-tabbed layout when filling in the fields for a tabbed layout, otherwise it will mess things up. Keep us posted:)

Unfortunately that is not the issue. I have built a tabbed app before, I just can't seem to change this non-tabbed app to a tabbed app without screwing it all up. I am at a loss. Does anyone know where I can find the code to work out what the default page is when opening the app? I think that may be causing the black screen

How do I do that? I have deleted the app from the simulator, redownloaded the source code, and re-run the app. Now the tabs appear, but i cannot click on them, and the start screen is a white background and not my homepage. So I cannot access any features of the app at all. Like I said, I had made another app with tabbed menus and that works okay, it's just this non-tabbed one will not tab up! When you make a non-tabbed app you have to select a start page and so by making a start page I deleted the default one, I am wondering if now that I am trying to make tabs, the app doesn't have a default start page? I dunno.

I did what you said and I think it worked. Thanks! One other question though.. What are the rules for making tab icons. Some of my icons work and others don't. They are all the same size and png files... Does it have something to do with transparent backgrounds?

If it's any use to you, I use 72x72 tab image size. Works fine for me.

Hi LA. It will ideally be for both. Do I need to do different things for each one? (I know I have to be very careful naming the file with Eclipse – been burnt by that before!)

Hi @bioninja, If you do what you just did and follow @raveyd adice on the tab size, you should be fine. LA
