Update to APK

Ok, in short, I removed the question mark that so bugged me that was on my android app. Changed version number and compiled. Uploaded to my Developer Console. But for some reason I can seem to get it to activate the new APK and deactivate the old APK. I'm sure im doing something wrong. Anyone mind helping me out here? Aaron

Ok, maybe not. People are getting the notification there is an update to the APP. Some have the actual button to update. Others..shows there is an update but no button to update. Interesting....

I think I know what I did. I labeled its version name from 1.4 to 1.5 and version code 1 to version code 2. I shouldn't have changed the version name maybe?? Ok, Changed it back to 1.4 and labeled version code to 3. Market shows an update...but again, no update button.

Hey Aaron, So I found this on stack overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6820688/android-developer-console-app-update which in the second response links to this as well: http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/publishing.html#marketupgrade I'm not really sure why the update option would be available on some phones and not others if you updated the app properly. Maybe their Android phones are rooted, and it has something to do with that?

Whats seemed to have happened was I got a little to inpatient. I was having people go to the market to see if there was an update on my app. It showed there was, bu again, no update button. Few hours later people told me they got actual notices of an update (those I never told to manually go to market to look) and they updated just fine. So it seems to me there is a delay with the Market. yes, it will show you there is an update but until android market actually has it ready...no update button. Just my thoughts. But I seem to be ok now. Thanks Parker for helping.
