Invalid API Credentials (6)

Hi all, I have a client on buzztouchmods, his server json/config data won't load up, we get back this error: {"result":{"status":"invalid", "errors":[{"message":"Invalid API Credentials (6)"}]}} I checked his config.php and validated his API, all is OK and validates fine, so why the error when trying to grab json from his app? Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com

Hi David, Can you download the source code for a project? Curious. Looking into this.

Yes the download works fine, however, the BT_config.txt simply has that line with the error posted above. Thanks. David https://buzztouchmods.com

Some more info, his other apps do not display the same error, it's only one specific application in his self hosted control panel. Hope this info helps a little. David https://buzztouchmods.com

How very odd. Is this a new app, or did an existing app suddenly go rogue? Any new plugins? Can a sub-sequential new app be created/altered/downloaded? If it's 'just this app' I'd be curious what the 'magic combo' was that elicited the issue. Cheers! -- Smug

@Smug, stuff like this always fun for me, never fun for the client. New app was created, altered/downloaded fine. This was an existing app gone rogue. No new plugins added or anything special (according to client) David https://buzztouchmods.com

Since I'm not in front of a computer at the moment, I suggest starting by doing a search for the phrase "Invalid API Credentials" to find what check is being done to cause the fail. Then set up some echo statements on the variables, one per line, with "<br/>" tags appended, to see where the problem is.

"his server json/config data won't load up" Is this on the Show Configuration Data screen or when you're trying to download the project?

Hi David, This is on the Show Configuration Data screen. The project downloads fine, but then the config.txt only shows that one error line. (according to client) Cheers, David.

OK, to make sure I have this. a) Clicking Show Configuration Data screen show that error message. b) Downloading the project shows the same error inside the BT_config.txt file. OK. Because you say you've validated your API key in the admin panel, something for sure doesn't add up. Send me an email with the API key you're using, I'll figure it out. Can't be that tough! LOL

A few members have fixed this by resetting their API key's secret in the buzztouch.com control panel. a) Log into your buzztouch.com control panel b) Find the API key in your Self Hosted Servers. c) Verify it's details are OK. d) Modify it's Secret (choose a new password). e) Enter that new secret, along with the key in your installs config.php file. Bet that works :-)

Depends on where you look ;) What David is talking about, is in your Buzztouch account. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/selfhostedapikey1.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/selfhostedapikey2.png Also, it's available in several places in your self hosted control panel, admin section: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/selfhostedapikey3.png Cheers! -- Smug
