App Rejected Due to Deprecated Code in Newer Android Versions

Hey all, I recently submitted an app to the Android Amazon Marketplace which appears to work well on Android 4.0, but not on 4.3. Thus, when it was tested on 4.3 by the testers, it failed. Unfortunately I am having difficulty correcting the error as it seems it involves a portion of code (Plugins) which has been deprecated in version 4.3 and, from what I can tell, will not be supported at all in the future. So my question is, since I cannot with my very simple coding skills fix the actual problem, is there a way to get around it? Can I force devices w/ higher APIs to use older versions so as to run my app? Hopefully this makes some amount of sense. Thanks. Scott

Curious, who are the Testers? Google or folks you know?

Thats interesting. I wonder if they can just tell from using the app or if they decompiled it.

Sorry for the lack of clarity. By "testers" I mean whoever at the Amazon Marketplace tests the submitted apps before approving them for sale. Not sure if it's man or machine.
