Last Year I was quoted $1500 dollars to Make This App!- Approved Today! Thank You!

Last year I went to Trey Smith's Iphone System Seminar in San Diego...Life changing...and although I am 100% behind his marketing strategies... one of the steps of his marketing plan was to hire a programmer through Odesk...no problem until they screw you out of hundreds of dollars. Along comes Buzztouch...WOW.... Approved again today in iTunes with an app that I have been dreaming about for over a year...quoted $1500 to make (which the programer had no clue how to do) ....long story short ... I did myself with Buzztouch.com Introducing....ER Translate....a communication app that assists with caregivers and patients in an emergency situation. I invite you to check it out ....enclosed are promo codes http://bit.ly/ERTranslate 94KF6694K7HF PPEJT4FKTANY 7T7PY9JRA39A EKTH4ATPF79W 4Y66FHR9RLHL MM9RMKKMNK33 7AFXH7PE6JYP 7EJMRXLN69KF Buzztouch gang....you are changing lives....keep up the great work! -Sheri

BTW - What did you use for the whiteboard? Is it a HTML5 canvass of some sort?

Sheri, Love the app. Great work, I'm sure it'll help many people. From a technical perspective, though, I too am interested in how you achieved the drawing canvas? Thanks.

Amazing app, Sheri! As the son of a nurse, and former EMT-B, I can see this being a huge help in the ER. Nice! I grabbed MM9RMKKMNK33. Mark

Mark- you are exactly the person who I made this for...so if you can give me an honest review I would love it! Thank you and your family for your dedication to the healthcare field. My hopes is that I will figure out how to do this on BT 2.0 so I can have more screens. Cheryl- its good to have a sister on board! I can see you have a lot of passion in your apps and appreciate your compliment... It means a lot! Dave- Thank you! Come visit some time and I will buy you a cup! Better yet something stronger is in order! Fred- working on the "other side" soon ...:)

To clarify on the canvas. It's HTML5 .....nothing fancy...I don't see why it couldn't work on both platforms. I simple edIt the code in an HTML editor. Put it as HTML doc...screen.....I can clarify more with video or PDF if therE is enough interest.

wow, that looks pretty revolutionary. and beyond useful in the real world. people are comfortable using ipads - it's not like some strange device the ER will plop down they don;t know how to use. this is familar technology, that's 1/2 the battle. nice work, great use of BT tools. great/idea and concept. package and market that idea. enter that in some contests to get some exposure. it's gold. just make sure you check in with us from your island paradise/estate in a few years. bravo!

Took the number 4 promo code and will put a review in soon. I have worked in health care adminstration for 30 years and I am very excited to see it! I work in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, so let me know if you need any contacts around here. I am out of town and working on a tethered two-bar signal, so it may be a few minutes! But at least I am connected.

Thank you Miss Susan! Way to go! Thank you for all your hard work. Not an easy job at all! Appreciate any feedback you have! Maybe at one point we can collaborate on a project. Love to hear what you think...there is so much you can do with medical apps....my head is full of ideas. Lots can be done local level. I don't know if it has been asked before on your apps...but who does your graphics? They are stunning.

Sheri- Amazing job on the app. I am curious...what went wrong on oDesk? (If you don't mind sharing) I have been outsourcing my apps for over a year and I am always looking for strategies to keep my business safe. Again...congrats!

With Odesk, I found absolutely fantastic resources for writers and illustrators however, with programmers I haven't had the best of luck. Not sure if it was because culturally I am a woman or if lack of knowledge on <app speak> at the time... but my experience was not once, not twice but three times with programmers left a bitter taste in my mouth. I will use the service again because I believe in the "team" concept of doing things...and doing this by yourself is exhausting. But if I do hire someone it will be a totally different approach. Not trying to bad mouth the company...it's a great concept I just wish I was educated more before I dove in.... Unfortunately, with every company you are going to find bad apples... ....The only strategy I would suggest ...and I learn the hard way is: 1. Be very clear on what your app will be and use wire framework..video. in very detailed SPECIFIC terms. (don't sway from your ideas...if they can't do it go to the next programmer) 2. A great idea is to "interview" three people (or more) at a time and tell them up front that you will make your decision with who ever makes the best product. 3. GET YOUR SOURCE CODE!!!!!! Can't stress that enough. 4. Learn the language. Buzztouch has help me understand how things work and I am able to do "tech speak" more fluently. I honestly, would be more comfortable now hiring someone....from any outsourcing company...Odesk, Freelancer...ect. Live and learn. With every business there will be pitfalls. -Best of Luck! Sheri

Sherry- I appreciate your comments. Anything I can do to help on your next outsourcing experience please let me know. Like I said, I have been outsourcing for several years and have outsourced literally $20,000+ through oDesk. I always follow these 10 rules and it has kept me as the boss and them anxious to please. 1. Get an NDA signed (most likely not enforceable but it sets the standard that they are dealing with a company not an individual) 2. Present yourself as the company's representative and there will be several rounds of interviews before you will award the project 3. Don't just wait for contractors to sign up, but go find the ones you want to take a closer look at 4. Talk earlier about the long-term vision of your company and if things go well then after the project is completed you will be looking for a more contractual work arrangement 5. Always, Always, Always have a Skype call and negotiate the price. You need to see how they react when you are on different sides of the fence 6. Talk about the inevitable chance of change. Especially with more complex apps you will need to be able to make alterations without the price raising by thousands or even at all. 7. Always set a price cap for the project. 8. Negotiate backups of your project to your servers. You can always fire them and move on if the project is not going how you like it (don't keep this policy secret...if they screw up there are literally 2,000+ programmers on outsourcing sites that could handle almost any job) 9. Keep your upfront deposit low and schedule milestone payments for Fixed Price Contracts. For hourly: monitor those screen shots 10. Be overly complimentary when they have given you a WOW moment. Sorry to go all 10 point analysis but I hope it helps. Best Regards, Jonathan

Jonathan you nailed it! Thank you. I can't tell you how many people need these 10 steps....I am sure there can "be an app for that"- market it!<ha> $20,000 worth of information right there! You have some awesome points. Will be building the team back up again soon so this is invaluable to me. -thanks again for kind words and support Sheri
