That happens to me too. Sometimes I have to start it up 3 or 4 times to get it working. It also helps to close everything else down so you only have eclipse running. Failing that, a pc reboot will help too.

Hi guys, Eclipse can be funky sometimes. For whatever reason a restart is necessary to get it up and running. But be sure you've gone through the tutorial to get the 'Hello World' test app up and running first. If you can get that up and running then your environment is properly setup and your apps should load without issue. http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html There is a section in dealing with AVD setup in the 'Hello World' tutorial link.

Ok Excellent! That is always the first thing to check. I found this link that offers several solutions for the problem mentioned in the original post: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5341

Step 5 in the link posted explains this to a degree. Just select the most recent target available. Choosing an earlier target will simulate the app running on an older device. Any of the recent ones should work fine.

I did what that guy explains: To detelete that AVD and create a new one. But once I open and clse the emulator, if I want to open it again, I get the same error, and I have to delete it again, close eclipse, open it, and create a new AVD again. ....¿?

Did you try the potential solutions offered in the link in my second post: Did you try increasing the RAM? Did you check for firewall issues? Did you wipe the AVD Data?

question 1: I only saw 1 solution (delete AVD and create a new one), I did it. question 2: I have 6gb RAM in my pc. question 3:I have microsoft security essentials, and i think it lets eclipse work correctly. question 4: I dont know how to do that

question 1: The link I provided (http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5341) suggested 3 (RAM/Firewall/Data Wipe) possible solutions - mentioned in my last post. question 2: That should be plenty of ram so it's probably not the issue. question 3: View comments 2 and 3 in the link. Disabling the firewall in Windows can be done through Start > Control Panel > Security Center. The directory to get to the firewall settings might differ slightly in other non XP operating systems but will be similar. question 4: View comment 5 in the link. You'll need to open up a DOS prompt to enter the command. Start > Run. Type 'cmd' and press 'ok'. Try these things and get back to us.

Yesterday, I created an 2.3.1 AVD target and it opens the app correctly.
