iPad interactive story book app rejected for 10.6

This was a new one for me. I have never had an app rejected for this reason. I was told the following: 10.6 We found the following issues with the user interface of your app: Specifically, the app was not optimized to support the device screen size. In addition, the app did not include interactive iOS features. For example, it would be appropriate to use allow the user to manipulate the images and objects in the app. Has anyone had any experience with this type of rejection before? I understand their second point, but I am not sure what they mean by the app was not optimized to support the device screen size. Thanks.

I think they want you to optimise it for the iPad mini, then scale it up for the iPad large. It's the only reason I can guess

The iPad mini is the pixel ratio as the iPad 1 and 2 The new iPads are retina so they need images with larger sizes. The images may look pixelated on the retina versions.

Did you also submit an iPhone version?

No the iPad storybook plugin is (as I understand it) to only work on an iPad. I was able to get the shape graphics to look good. I am now just trying to find the right app to create vector graphics for text. I do not want to buy Photoshop as I do not have a great deal of use for it other than this app so spending the money on it would not be a wise use of money. I have tried iDraw and the text does not upscale to 300 ppi.

Have you tried Gimp? I've always been lucky enough to use Photoshop, but I hear a lot of people use Gimp as an alternative.

Also, I think what Jake was asking was: Did you specify in your binary that the app only supported ipad? If you accidentally submitted it as a Universal app, they would reject it for not supporting the iphone screen.

No I haven't. I will try it thanks, although I think this app is going to stay on the back burner until summer break.
