Turn GPS On and Off Crash in 2.0 on iPad

The Turn GPS On and Off causes a crash on my iPad, but not on my iPhone. Any ideas why? The iPad is a 3G. Here is the error message. BT_viewUtilities: configureBackgroundAndNavBar for screen with nickname: "Turn GPS on or off" and itemId: E6431B5CEB4C9B89B7674D0 and type: BT_screen_settingsLocation 2012-09-19 22:00:20.333 twincitiesfilmfest[3311:707] Thank you!

Hmm.... what is the Build Target you're using in Xcode when you "compile and run." 3.0, 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, etc. I'll to to simulate what you're running into, using the same Build Target.

Thank you, David and Danny! When I change the iOS deployment target from 3.0 to 4.0, the problem goes away. Now, I have another question--should the maps work within the app when the setting is set to "Prevent Location Reports"? I thought when someone turned off GPS in the app the mapping would no longer work.

Hi Susan, I only tested with the simulator (and not on device) but it worked regardless the settings. Maybe on the device it's different but I don't know. This is my message on the forum I mentioned above: If I allow "start tracking location" on ios 4.3 simulator no popup will come up on the start of the app and prevent or allow location report always shows the simulator(user) addres. On ios 5.0 simulator it warns the user that gps is on. Maybe David has a definitive answer. Best Regards, Danny

That makes sense. The point of it is to allow users to be able to see when their GPS wants to start and prevent it, rather than prevent it from coming on at all times.
