pasted in code still vanishes (iOS)

when I paste into a "Custom HTML - Text" window via the source button, the code vanishes if I ever return to that screen to do anything else. This happened with the old Buzztouch too.

I use that screen a fair but. Bizarre. It does it in all apps and always has? Stupid question but you paste in the code and then click save and it vanishes?

I hit save and all is good, but if I later return and edit something in the advanced settings, then save that, when I check the app on my iPhone, the page is blank, and when I return to the page source code view in buzztouch, it's blank there too. All the code has gone. This was a known problem with old buzztouch and I discussed it with David some time ago, but it never really got fixed.

Regarding BTv2.0 Custom HTLM text Recently there was a post by David@Buzztouch stating that one should save the Advance Setting then save the HTML. I haven't been able to see the HTML. I can see the text & background image. I've not had the problem with BTv1.5 Fred

Hey Basement After you edited the advance settings and saved them, the last thing before closing that screen setting, is to click save again on the html settings. That works for me.

@Nasstie, has the v2.0 Custom HTML worked for you, or are using v1.5? Fred

Hey I am on my own server and all the plugins work just fine. I use v2.0. Custom HTML/text plugin. The first and last "save" on the settings page should be the HTML setting save. I hope I helps. There are several other plugins not available yet we had. But hope to see them soon.

Hi gang, been trying to work this out for sometime now. It is (was) related to the order in which the Save button was used. For sure in some cases Saving an advanced property was overwriting the HTML in the editor above. Bogus. I think I found the issue and fixed it. I tested a bunch of different ways and can't seem to break it again. Surely one of you can! The SAVE button directly under the Text Editor is the only button that will actually save the HTML / Text, this is by desing. The save buttons in the advanced settings sections save 'all the advanced settings' but not the HTML. This means you should click Save under the HTML after making changes. If you re-visit the screen, then click Save in an advanced property it should NOT overwrite / update / erase your HTML.

Do we need to redownload the source code. Is this specific to BTv2.0 ? Fred

Ah, Fred, only implemented the change in the BT hosted v2.0 panels. Good thought though, an update to the HTML plugin for self-hosters will be needed. I'll get er' done ;-)

Yes David, all you said about saving is correct, I did all of that but the when I returned to a screen by clicking one of the icons in the list, it loaded a fresh screen instead of the saved screen. The advance settings was there but not the text. This happened several times. Essentially there are or were 2 problems: 1) The one you are referring to in above post, saving the text - and maybe you have corrected it - i did not realize I should re download the source code - good thinking. 2) The other problem is or was that after everything was working, and I checked it on the simulator, I wanted to go back and correct something, I clicked on a icon or name in list, and it loaded the screen, with still the same nick name and advance settings, but not the text.

Wow, I didn't know about this previously. On BT 1.5 I enabled iAds and later discovered after the app update was approved by Apple that the text had disappeared. I thought it was me and somehow I deleted it, so I tried to update another and noticed that it was overwritten/deleted after I enabled it. So the bug I guess exist here on Buzztouch.com as well. I guess we should be instructed that if we make changes to anything in the advance menu we should go up and save the HTML custom text screen @David? Thanks!
