Step-By-Step Tutorial for Making An iOS Soundboard

Even though this has been mentioned in the forum ... I have received a few questions on how I made the soundboard for my lastest app: ER Translate. The credit for this is on IanJamesPiano and DavidBook. I just followed their steps. However, we all learn differently and I wanted to contribute back so I made a step-by-step tutorial. (PDF with photos & video link) Hope it helps! http://bit.ly/JX451b

Very nice! I love step-by-steps with clear illustrations. I'll have to give it a shot when I can think of an app with that feature! Mark

@Mark .....how about a soundboard for fishy sounds for your Angler app? All joking a side ...your scripture app would be fantastic to have sound board implemented. ie..Daily affirmations...short under 10 secs....thank you again for the compliment. I believe that we all learn differently and that is why i made the tutorial.....your tutorials are very comprehendible because you do the same. Kinectlly we have touch screens, videos or animations for visual, and audio for hearing . If I can implement all of these in my apps I believe they will be more successful too. @Fred thanks for the recognition. The code is found in button screens menu in xcode.

wow THANKS Sheri! You are a rock-star. This is great. I've got my notes cobbled together to work on this soon. Now at least i know i have all the working steps saved to refer to. The video is great. I don't know what kind of marketing you are doing for that app/company, but i spent yesterday at a Constant Contact Social Media Marketing seminar. We all hate SPAM, but CC seems to be re-inventing itself using Social media now. I think you could make serious bank with your app and some of their ideas/techniques. I know I saw Seattle on their upcoming schedule. It's FREE and it's totally geared tword small businesses like yours. I learned a TON in 4 hours, I bet you would walk out there with some killer marketing strategies. check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-H-p5dA5N4&feature=related and thanks again for the awesome tutorial!

Thanks ATRAIN53! I have used Constant Contact years ago and went to Aweber but I am always open to new ideas and techniques! Looks like they will be at the Museum of Flight June 12 very cool! Unfortunately, can't make that date...bummer....I live 7 hours away on the other side of the state. But I will do more research on it! Thanks for the heads up and the nice compliments -Sheri

if you have a large(ish) app with more than one button menu screen and you tried to implement a sound board as a small part of the app, would it impact the othe button menu screens that are present by changing this code?

On the advanced tab on your button menu properties there is a place where you can size for smaller screens( generally phone) and larger screen ( with a tablet) I can not stess enough how important testing on a device is more important than just testing on a simulator. However I have been able to get similar results. For this app "Button size for small device "is at 60 & "The button size for large device " set at 125 Margins are at 2 for small device and margins on larger device was set at 11. To be honest I just played around with this until it looked right. Hope that helps!

not sure i explained myself well. what I'm thinking is: you have an app with 4 tabs which are all button menu screens with buttons leading to other screens (standard stuff) if i wanted to add a 5th tab as abutton menu but i wanted it to be a souondboard as per you instructions. the fact that i have to amend code in Xcode, will i impact the othe 4 button menu screens with the code change and stop them working. does that make sense?

This was done in 1.5 . I am not sure how you can do it in 2.0 as of yet. Possible plug in. ... Another route is story boarding and that isn't with buzztouch .
