I am self hosted also. I need a way to bring in photos. I am constantly uploading new photos to albums on facebook. I will upload them to flickr as well if I can get them to show up on my app. Thanks !!

I wish I could tell you, but the gallery plugins seem to be for iOS only. If it doesn't carry both iOS and Android, I don't have the plugin. I'm curious what the answer would be though, so I'm following... Cheers! -- Smug

Well do either of those plugins MacImage gallery or Thumbs viewer support flickr? The only thing I have seen is with the old pluggin from 1.5 that explains how to set it up with flickr. Or how about a image gallery that will pull from a rss feed that is supplied by flickr. I have seen this on ibuildapp.com

The one on buzztouchmods.com works with flicker But you'll need to be self hosted

I am self hosted. I have tried uploading the pluggin from buzztouchmods.com found here https://www.buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=1&download_id=28 but when I upload it I get this error This plugin package is invalid... index.php required readme.txt required readme.txt required readme.txt required I am guessing it was designed for 1.5 Anyone else have a solution? thanks

I use the BT Mods plugin and it works fine. The Android gallery is a bit clunky. Don't know if it's the code or the Android itself. You may need to manually ftp the plugin rather than use the installer.

The zip is within a zip if that makes sense. Unzip the first one then upload the one after it if I remember correctly

I read this guide to do this am I way off ? https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=2C6644B3DF963BFD4B951E8&fid=127FE84288EBDBCF646C715&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=&currentPage=6 ""Advanced Gallery Properties" section. Within those properties you will find the "Screen Data URL" and field to update with your Flickr data URL. I cant find this option...am I going crazy>?

There is no 'Advanced Gallery Properties' with this Plug-in. Just use the screen data URL in the menu items below. Pretty simple.

I have a dozen apps using this plugin and pulling images from Flickr. I'm not near my computer right now, and I think that I had to do a workaround for android. As I think about it I don't think I was able to get the plugin to pull from Flickr for the android apps, just for iOS.

Can you please post your workaround? I would be very grateful :) So quick question. I have two photo sets in flickr that i will update photos to. I would like to pull images from these photo sets to the app using that pluggin. What do i put in the screen data URL. What is the proper URL format so it will pull from that particular photo set THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP !!

Okay. First, the easy solution: I use html software called photoswipe (http://photoswipe.com/). Here's an example of what type of gallery it creates. http://tinyurl.com/bbvhusr The photos from this gallery are pulled from my flickr account. You can use this as a custom url and it works in both iPhone and Android. They scale nicely and you don't have to use the image gallery plugin. But, knowing how picky Apple can be, I really wanted to use the Image Gallery plugin, and I like the interaction better on my iPhone, especially with Socialize. I also wanted to not have to build two separate apps for Android and iPhone. I wanted to just build one. So... this is what I did. 1. In the downloaded Android source code, replace the contents of BT_screen_images.java with the code from BT_screen_customURL.java. Do the same for the xml files. 2. In the BT_screen_images.java file, make sure the public class says the following: public class BT_screen_images extends BT_activity_base { 3. In the BT_screen_images.java file, find the following code: //load URL in webView public void loadUrl(String theUrl){ BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ": loadUrl"); try{ webView.loadUrl(theUrl); }catch(Exception e){ BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ":loadUrl Exception: " + e.toString()); } } Replace it with the following code: //load URL in webView public void loadUrl(String theUrl){ //find Android url androidURL = BT_strings.getJsonPropertyValue(this.screenData.getJsonObject(), "backgroundImageURLLargeDevice", ""); BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ": loadUrl"); try{ webView.loadUrl(androidURL); }catch(Exception e){ BT_debugger.showIt(activityName + ":loadUrl Exception: " + e.toString()); } } What this does is pulls a custom url from the large screen background image field. So in your control panel, you'll put your flickr feed in the Screen Data URL section, and in the Screen Background Image section, place the url to your photoswipe html file in the Image URL box under Large Device. That's it. For your flickr feed you'll need to use something like this: http://api.flickr.com/services/rest/?method=flickr.photosets.getPhotos&api_key=YOUR_FLICKR_API_KEY&photoset_id=YOUR_FLICKR_PHOTOSET&format=json Hope this isn't too confusing. It's a cool cheat and works well. I've got a half dozen apps in both the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store using this method.

Hmm. I wonder if the plugin was changed. That is weird. Have you got the image gallery plugin that's in the BT Plugin Store? The one MacApple did? I could be the same thing I have above would work with it.

As @Absentia says, the MacImageGallery is fine with Flickr, have many with it in it, both native images and Flickr feeds. Android version is 90% complete. Someday soon.....

Reading the description of the MacImageGallery, it was based on the version 1.5 image gallery. The tutorial you linked to above says it is for the 1.5 gallery, so that should work fine. Or you can use the url I provided above. That should work as well.
