html5 app

Hi, Many moons ago, David @ buzztouch hinted on possibly developping a BT package for HTML5 as well. I guess this has taken a back seat or has been knocked off the shelf altogether? In the meantime, I am being asked to develop an HTLM5 app, any advise or experience users would like to share? There are quite a few platforms out there, hard to choose. Cheers, Farcat

Are you asking about having a non native app, built using html5 css3? I've got a project where I need an html5 web app so that using webkit standards it will appear in most devices browsers, the trick is to upon landing on the html5 page that the user adds the bookmark our app icon to the home screen. visitors can scan a QR code so it automatically opens the url in the mobile browser as well. Before buzztouch, I've started building out html5 twitter bootstrap sites, then having adobe phonegap package the binaries for me, i'd still have to do that for my blackberry world and windows marketplace projects. and for windows i'd need win 8 pro server to use the sdk, not sure if this helps. Would be interested in that being integrated into BTCP. Best Ed

Thanks Ed, that's it, a HTML5 instead of native. The app would be downloadable from a website (client requirement). On this particular case the client doesn't need to deploy on the app stores so I don't really need an Hybrid app. A friend of mine used PhoneGap and the result is average, the app being very sluggish. I might be able to build it from scratch (with hundreds hours of development) but I'd rather use one of the existing platform on the market: - PhoneGap - http://phonegap.com/ - Sencha - http://www.sencha.com/ - Mosync - http://www.mosync.com/ - Icenum - http://www.icenium.com/ - Corona - http://www.coronalabs.com/ - dhtmlx - http://www.dhtmlx.com - Jquerymobile - http://jquerymobile.com/ - Appcelerator - http://www.appcelerator.com/ - ... The last two emerge as my favourite but I am keen to get users feedback! Cheers, Farcat

@EdReyes I am trying to use Jquery Query mobile with my buzztouch apps, I have actually implemented it on IOS, I just used the HTML Doc plugin and placed all my www files in the BT Docs folder. The HTML 5 pages contain some local storage and Websql code in it and it works very fine on IOS platform I want to replicate this app on Android but its like the HTML Doc plugin does not work the same on Andriod, I found out for some reason its not displaying the page that has any local storage or websql code on it. every other page displays fine. Please can you help with this. Or have you done any buzztouch app with local storage embedded in it. thanks

@Rachelle The app I just completed this morning is http://nutritionist4you.com Full responsive wordpress site. The task was to incorporate some form of note taking feature so that our registered dietitians can have their patients download the app, and in every session they can record notes for them to follow and track on their own mobile device, as well as send push notifications for dietary recipe or news. From reading the threads, I realize that apple doesn't want just websites embedded into the apps. So, adding push notifications, tap to email, tap to call, geo location, in app note taking, in app purchases. Possibly version 2, facetime or skype. I'll get it approved. Im working on the android build tonight. But maybe contact GoNorthWest on how his cross platform https://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=63F726DE1DC5B2BFC4E9234 Notepad feature stores data on android. Hope that helps

I would be curious to see where this goes. I remember seeing HTML 5 being under the download list once, but maybe David gave up hope.
