Help with steps to make app 100% offline

These are the steps I have derived from the forum to create 100% offline app 1) In App Control Panel got to configuartion data URL and delete dat URL so that it is blank 2) Put all images for app in local folder BT_images Folder 3) Put all text, PDF’s into the BT_docs Folder 4) For correct config File a)In core properties click link for configuration data b)Copy data into BT_Config.txt file c)Copy file into Xcode d)Clean and rebuild in xcode] e)Run console in xcode and check that it is referencing file locations in project on local folder Questions 1) is the above steps correct 2) I have designed some Custom HTML pages directly in buzztouch itself. Do I need to download these and put in docs folder. Do I just copy source and put it in web editor and save to DOC folder 3) Do I need to delete the cloud URL in core properties Any help on this matter will be gratefully recieved

From what I can gather, creating Customer HTML/Text documents requires a trip to the BT servers in order to serve up the info. I was reading last night that if you create an HTML Document screen then you can reference a local .html file stored in BT_Docs.

My comprehension on web service is quite limited, would I go to my login and download them or would I need to go to specific part of the server?

1. your steps look good 2. You would need to copy and paste your files into a text editor and save them in Xcode...then in your buzztouch control panel point to the file you just placed in Xcode 3. yes delete report to cloud url don't forget to update your config.txt file before you compile hope this helps

Looks good to me. David@buzztouch posted a message about this in Feb - copy and paste this link: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=31416AD1102E020 His comments are about half way down the page. Should help clarify all steps. Yours John

Thanks for that info guys. Do the quizzes run offline or do they need access to BT servers? I have done 5 in app for mini educational purposes and a bit of fun?

Hi - if everything's on the phone and not on a server somewhere then it should be fine :-) The way I test mine to see if that's the case is to put my iPhone in Airplane mode - ON Then run the app on the phone Let us know what happens :-)) John

Thanks John I am going to try that. Does Airplane mode complete disable 3G and wifi access? I think to be on the safe side I am going to do the app first as normal access just to ensure safe passage through app store. As my experience and testing increases I am going to be 100% offline. Had app rejected twice due to errorno screens and I have tracked this down to me not copying most current config over to xcode. I am going to bundle images with app to decrease download time by putting in images on BT_images folder. I feel it is imperative for me to get app on market and to also represent BT well that I get this app through in safest mode possible. I feel that I am close to fully understanding 100% offline but by keeping it 80% online with BT and packaging the images in the app will be the safest.

Stefan thanks for the comment. The reason I am on to next app is because of all the help from Buzztouch and its great forum users, so to hear I have helped especially as I am a very basic programmer is a great buzz, much of my advice has been garnered from other users and my dogged desire to get my first app on the store.
