Retina Display Screenshots Now Required by App Store

Hi gang, Just tried to submit an app update (done this tons of time). It looks like Apple's now requiring Retina display screenshots. This is a new requirement. The requirements for high-resolution images are 960 x 640, 960 x 600, 640 x 960, or 640 x 920 pixels. Images must be at least 72 dpi, in the RGB color space, and the file must be .jpeg, .jpg, .tif, .tiff, or .png. You can update your screenshot files at any time in iTunes Connect. If you're unsure how to do this in the simulator (capture Retina screenshots).. a) Launch Simulator with your app running. b) After it launches, from the Simulators main menu choose Hardware > Device > iPhone (Retina). The app will close and the simulato will switch the the iPhone Retina display. c) Click build and run again in Xcode to re-launch in the simulator. Your app will launch with Retina display (sim looks like a mini iPad). c) Do a screen capture like you alway do with File > Save Screenshot. Save this somewhere save, use the as the screenshots in iTunes Connect.

Could you also run the app on a phone with a retina display and capture a screenshot that way? Any difference there? Mark

How do take a screenshot on the iPhone? I have noticed that occasionally my wife manages to take a picture of the password screen on her phone (screenshot!) but I have no idea how she does it...

Press home and power button at the same time for about 1 sec, you'll hear a click of your successful. If not, your phone shut's off... ;)
