Apple app Approved

Hi, managed to get my world cup app approved on Apple yesterday. For anyone developing for area's where trademarks exist, Apple were very very zealous in their approach to language that I used in the app and they rejected the binary twice. I had used terms that are referenced by FIFA marketing guidelines and Apple politely asked me for evidence that I had permission. I sent them the guidelines and whilst I am not convinced that I had not used them incorrectly, to get the app through I just stopped using these terms completely. Anyway, 3rd time lucky. It took so long, the world cup is at it's mid-point now! I was inspired to do this app by those poster wall charts that come out when big sporting events like the world cup come around. I wanted to explore the possibility of seeing how possible it is to present a mobile view of sporting tournament schedule and results. So, although the world cup is half way through, if you’d like to follow the results, check out the locations and weather: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/2014-world-footy/id884514001?ls=1&mt=8 Android version also available : http://bit.ly/1hKg13T Cheers, Alan

That's a very well done app AlanMac. Shame they only approved it so late. I'll be using it to keep an eye on how the German team are doing.

Congrats. Very nice app. What plugin did you use for the home screen. I like the drop down when you click an item. Dave

Glad you like the colours Smug, I borrowed them with a little artistic licence from the Brazil team. Hi @Calypso, that is the custom URL plugin, lol. That is all done using a fancy html list and javascript, all free and found on the interweb.

Well congrats on the app. Looks very nice. Also, how did you do that scroll down menu when you tap a group? Adam

Hi Adam, the plugin is the custom URL plugin, rendering and html hide/show list and a bit of javascript. Its known as a collapsible accordion, a bit like this http://www.pureexample.com/jquery-ui/accordion-options-collapsible.html
