Weird New rejection PLA 3.3.12

I have not been rejected in a while. Here it is I was looking on stackoverflow. Im seeing that this is a new type of rejection. I have new scringo and parse. But i think i will will update the sdks one more time to make sure. Then I will resubmit. Reasons Program License Agreement PLA 3.3.12 We found your app uses the iOS Advertising Identifier but does not include ad functionality. This does not comply with the terms of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement, as required by the App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically, section 3.3.12 of the iOS Developer Program License Agreement states: "You and Your Applications (and any third party with whom you have contracted to serve advertising) may use the Advertising Identifier, and any information obtained through the use of the Advertising Identifier, only for the purpose of serving advertising. If a user resets the Advertising Identifier, then You agree not to combine, correlate, link or otherwise associate, either directly or indirectly, the prior Advertising Identifier and any derived information with the reset Advertising Identifier." Please check your code - including any third-party libraries - to remove any instances of: class: ASIdentifierManager selector: advertisingIdentifier framework: AdSupport.framework If you are planning to incorporate ads in a future version, please remove the Advertising Identifier from your app until you have included ad functionality. To help locate the Advertising Identifier, use the “nm” tool. For information on the “nm” tool, open a terminal window and enter, “man nm.” If you do not have access to the libraries source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using the "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool lists the methods that the library calls, and "otool -ov" will list the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides.

Ya I got this too on one of my games. Seems they want u to turn on ads if u have it in there. I guess guarding against folks who get apps approved with no ads… then overdo it once live. I resubmitted last night with ads turned on… will see how it goes.

Is this for a new app you submitted? What type of app is it?

Nice buzzday badge! My Buddy App Development app was approved! This was an app for the Hicksville chamber of commerce. Let me see if its as simple as enabling ads in xcode.

@Uelsimon So are you saying you have to already decide prior to submitting your app that if you are planning to have apps but are not ready, you can't decide post approval to add ads later?

@feraco - if you have scringo in there.... turn on the ads in that...u can always then turn them off once approved. Or in BT, on the main screen or a very visible screen... turn on advertising using iADS (usually a option near bottom of most plugins/menus). then once approved... turn em off. @EdReyes - if you put the SDK in there... best turn them on, or face a possible 3.3.12. If you are not ready, then don't put the SDK in there...and once you are ready to turn on ads, you can include it in an update. Actually I hypothesize that just turning on iAd on a main/very visible screen should theoretically appease the reviewer

You can turn on iAds in your control panel (Core Properties and each plugin screen) and iTunes Connect for that app, where you enable/disable iAds.

New rejections, great stuff. Constant battle once again solved by the cool chaps on Buzztouch. I never use ads so good info for this weekend. Cheers @feraco @Uelsimon. Knowledge is power and all that good stuff. Well, usually!

Heck yes it does. The 'PLA 3.3.12' in the post title will make this a front page hit in Google within the next 7 days with this thread will make me kick myself when I get that rejection after forgetting to do this over weekend. Owe you a beer most likely, somewhere down the line anyway. See you soon buddy.
