I use the Opera market or shall I say they use me. They offered to port my apps so I decided it shouldnt hurt. Since June I've racked in a total of 315 downloads from 5 apps. They are my more popular apps in the Google Play store that have over 2,000,000 total downloads. I'm not keen on Opera but I guess it doesn't hurt right!? The backend isn't very friendly in my opinion.

2mill, nice one! Alt markets and sometimes untapped ones are good but with less than 3% market share for browsers I did wonder. Thanks ladies, good info. Will reach out to the melon and twist his head. Happy Friday.

Mellon head, yeah, hope the nickname is ok? Opera stores a tough cookie today. They'll be begging for devs in the near future but I'm not sure they'll have any luck without some huge incentives. Offering to port for @mysps is one thing (and cool) but an envelope full of cash, for every dev in their store would be "just enough" to get them going. At this point it'll take a major MAJOR bankroll to get a legit App Store to anything near big enough to complete today. Small niche stores sure. Big stores like App Store or Google Play - huge huge dollars. Opera, start by spending $1B or so and pay the top 500 devs to port their apps. Not chump change, like 100K each. See how it goes for a few months. If no traction is made, give up, save the next B. If you get somewhere, call the VC's and ask for another B. Or, call a few folks in the dev biz with some friends, help us make some Opera apps (remember the second B), we'll go from there.
