For those that have wanted to give us money...

We've been hearing from folks for literally YEARS that feel compelled to pay us. The reasons are numerous but mostly they appreciate what we offer (for free) and want to contribute in a meaningful way. We've always said no. Aside from account upgrade options (which are not ideal or necessary for everyone), we've never offered anything for sale. Good news, we do now. Kinda. Plugin developers (buzztouch community members) will begin to sell plugin in the newly released Plugin Market. These plugins will not be free (in most cases). To install a plugin from the market, you'll need some Market Credit. You can BUY market credit in your account control panel. Left side nav after logging in, "Market Credit" link. Most of the money you spend in the market will be returned to developers. However, a small percentage of market sales will be used to push buzztouch to even higher heights. Spend a few bucks, get something cool, what could be better. Thanks a bunch, we look forward to giving your money to some well deserving Plugin Developers.

Fair enough. Will just rip up that 7 figure cheque I wrote out to BT. Good lady says it would have bounced anyway. Darn rubber cheques.

@David - Thanks for all that you have done and will do for all us. I just added $40 market credit to my account can't wait to spend it! I'm hoping that you plan to publish some PREMIUM plugins by "David @ buzztouch". You are correct we want to give you our money! Thanks again.

I was just thinking... we see a lot of threads with developers looking for help on compiling, installing servers, etc. Would be great to use some of our credit to pay or receive from people directly from buzztouch to buzztouch account? Is that something anyone has looked into? Think it would be cool :-) Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

this sounds really great but what of the people that only use Pay pal accounts is there going to be an option for them in the future?

@wedevelop4u I believe almost anyone is able to get a paypal debit card, and then use that, at least until paypal is a option? Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

@MrDavid: We're thinking alike again. It's sort of a one-step-at-a-time kinda thing. For sure some neat things can be done with the "credit" method. Hiring help, offering a bonus, etc. is for sure one of them. Disrupting (fixing) the freelance labor problem is super tough. We've been toying with some neat ideas and do look forward to figuring out a good, fair, professional way to connect devs with app owners or with "somebody who's done that before" and look forward to attacking it full on the future. @weDevelop4U: PayPal, we hear ya. We used to do PayPal but the fees got really really high. We may implement some sort of automated payPal system again but not sure when. In the meantime, you can send an email to your Account Manager (link in control panel) and he'll be able to help you use paypal to get some credit :-) THANKS EVERYONE! I just spent my first $2.99 in the market (really), super fun!

thank you for your coments and yes Pay Pal can be expensive the reason I highlighted it is that a lot of people feel safer using it then their personal cards, for myself I don't have any problems using the cards

Can we buy Plugins to use on v1.5 iOS apps. I installed my self server but for some reason feel so much more comfortable using the 1.5 CP still. Please Advise.

@David gotcha! Looking at the newest plugin, the first thing that comes to mind is there are no screenshots, and without screenshots, I felt compelled to not hit that purchase button just yet ;) I like to see what I'm buying! Regardless I'm purchasing because I know who made it, but other plugin developers might not be so lucky? Hehe! Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

I think a "Works or does not work on self hosted" is vital - I do all of my apps on self hosted servers, so I would really like to know if they work or do not work on self hosted servers. Thanks again! Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

A plugin is a plugin. There's no reason it shouldn't work on self-hosted. Appears Buzztouch is rebuilding the plugin after submission, which is why the NotePad Feature plugin is having self-hosting issues. Fred

@GoNorthWest said: "Looks like there may be an issue with the self-hosted version. Working with David to get that resolved!". On his congratulations thread for first plugin approved. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=7E09A3AD6EEFEB1120FE790&tid=7E09A3AD6EEFEB1120FE790 That leads me to believe there must be changes between both control panels that lead to "minor?" incompatibility. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

@MrDavid / @Fred: No screenshots, hmm, in the market? I see the screenshots as expected when browsing the market. As far as "rebuilding" plugin packages after they are submitted...nope, not rebuilding anything. When something is "close" to ready for the market (very few folks can get it 100% complete and ready yet) we look at the files, help get them dialed in, whatever is needed. Then we make it available. This has been a tedious process for the last few weeks while we figure out the most efficient way to help devs, maintain quality, etc, etc. The self hosted issues @GoNorthWest is referring to didn't have anything to do with the plugin, it had to do with the download process. The download server was not delivering the completed package. This was our fault and part of the reason we're not rolling out all the approved plugins at once. It's these kinds of gotcha's were trying to figure out before ramping up the release pace. Fun, yup. Tedious, yup. Worthwhile, totally.

@David I see screenshots now.. I could have sworn (even refreshing) no screenshots showed! All seems fixed now :) Am I right to assume then all plugins here will work for self hosted control panels then? It's appreciated that you're going through these tedious procedures to help plugin developers - very awesome, won't find that anywhere else. Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

@MrDavid: Yup, if it's in our market it needs to work on self hosted. If it doesn't, we should not release it. If it's released, and doesn't, we need to help fix it! LOL. Rollin' a few more out...back to work I go.

Hi David@buzztouch I am now lost since you created the new system I am unable to create my own plug ins on the left side of the accounts there is no longer the plug in action does this mean I need to pay to create my own plugin? if thats the case its a bit unfair since I already pay for buzztouch I am all for paying what some one else created as they took the time to do it and I thank you for the opportunity to sell anything I may create, can some one please advise

The button is still there. Plugins are in two places--to make the custom plugin you start by going to your account -> Installed Plugins.
