New UI for Self Hosted Push Notification

Hi Guys-- This is something I've been working on in my spare time, I absolutely love BT but feels that it lacks in the design department when it comes time to my clients sending out push notifications. I will be releasing this to the BT community soon but I still have a few tweaks to do..I want to work on the confirmation page when the send button is selected, a nicer view of the archived messages, and device lists. Without further a do -- check out this quick screen capture and let me know what you guys think! http://screencast.com/t/AVXIsa1gzMs

@WaYsTiiD TIME, Keep up the good work! I have been pushing Buzztouch's design in my self hosted and once you push past design limitations it really becomes amazing!

That's cool are you releasing this as a 3rd party sdk or plugin? Either way I'd preorder my copy.

@cakebit - I'm a illustrator/animator by trade and coding is something I've been trying to pick up for the past few years. Design is a walk in the park for me..its the php and getting this to work with just right, I've been holding out as long as possible asking for help from someone who knows php but we'll see if I can get it right :)

This looks very nice indeed. Let me know what I can do to help! Cheers! -- Smug PS Mr VanBeveren and I did a little push mod that keeps a record of your last 25 pushes… if you want to incorporate that code somewhere, the template is located here: https://www.buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=2&download_id=51

@smug -- I am probably going to be reaching out to BT devs to help get it tied to the CP depending on what their charge is - as I'm working with a limited budget. In regards to the archive of push messages -- I have something in place ;) heres a sneak peak http://screencast.com/t/Nwa5wiIrnXzo

That looks very elegant, much nicer than we currently use! Would it be possible for this to work on a separate website as well as the CP? Alan

Wow -- what other things have you done to the Web Control Panel of BT? Don't knock yourself -- you are indeed skilled with both sides of the brain! -- Niraj

You can't imagine how happy it makes me to see folks pushing things to the next level. Really, it does. I think most creatives (code, art, design, whatever) are happiest when others embrace their work. This thread is a great example of that. Well done @WaYsTiiD TIME! @WaYsTiiD TIME: Look for an email from me in the coming days about possibly doing some contract work for us. Design work. If you're not interested, no worries. Else, I think you could help the community (by helping us) in a more meaningful way. I'm posting this remark publically because it's important that folks understand that demonstrating a little effort, skill, and enthusiasm, with zero expectation for return (your offers to share are awesome!!!!) can sometimes turn into bigger opportunities. Well done!

@AlanMac - When you say a separate website; do you still intend it to be connected to BT? Not sure what use it would be other than inside the CP. @Niraj Shah - I am just starting to revamp my self hosted server, I love BT but I want to redesign the entire web control panel. My plans are to make the site really intuitive with an elegant design; think scringo dashboard type style ;) @David @ buzztouch - thanks a lot for the kinds words. I would absolutely love to do some design work, feel free to shoot me an email or message on BT, I'd love to hear what you have in mind.

Hi With some people it is better to make things as simple as possible and shield them from the other CP features. The reasons for running a push form outside the CP is to give a person I develop an app for a simple interface to create their own push, but without giving them access to the rest of the CP. For example, Parse provides an api that allows this. Alan

@AlanMac - that's one of the reasons why I created the push notification plugin (currently on buzztouchmods.com). I wanted to make it easy as possible for clients to send out push without trying to navigate a full control panel.

@AlanMac - I'm sure you could use this as a separate website, you would just need a way to tie the users login to the database to communicate with the push script.

@chris1, I'd like to create a push from a form on a website, but that is certainly a cool looking plugin for creating a push from an app.

@WaystiidTime is absolutely correct - you could certainly make it a separate website as long as you gave them a login form. That's the beauty of php. :)
