Hi, here are somethings I would like to put out to the group.

Hi, I've been looking for ways to make some money and after thinking about it for a while I've concluded that selling apps/software maybe the thing for me. I don't have much money to start with so will need to think things out clearly. Any help or ideas given will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, that is a good idea. For now I'm stuck developing android apps because I'm on a windows computer. Doesn't sound like you can develop IOS apps on windows. If you can I'd really like to know how.

Hi @ParaReality, Hang in there and brainstorm. You come up with something. As I am in a wheelchair and hardly no money but I found the best things in life, including Apps, come from the heart. LA

After you've sold a few Android apps and you're ready for iOS development, you can probably find a decent Intel based mac for around $500-700 dollars. Find a relatively recent Mac Mini and that will work out fine. Just be sure to have the latest OS and the latest iOS SDK's. Buzztouch keeps up with all of that, and if you don't have the latest, you'll sometimes need to edit the code to make it work. Not a problem if you've done it a few times, but for someone just starting out, those error statements may as well be in martian. "My" business model is to create a few 'custom' Real Estate apps to agents in our area. Self promotion is a big deal for them, and having their face plastered all over an free iPhone/Android app is something they've been very receptive to. I'm creating the first one for my friend 'Duane', but his agent friends have been slobbering for me to finish so I can create theirs. I figure about $100 per platform. With BT, that's an easy $200 per agent, and multiply that by 10 to 40 agents and I'll have a little coin to fund my more frivolous coding pursuits. It was pretty simple to create a Buzztouch app that had only a few critical pages: Menu choice 1: Call Duane! - Call the agent, easily done in BT Menu choice 2: Email Duane! - Email the agent, easily done in BT Menu choice 3: Text Duane! - SMS the agent, easily done in BT Menu choice 4: See Duane's Listings! - View the agents mobile website, easily done in BT Menu choice 5: Get to Duane's Office! - Map showing Realtor office. Regardless of platform, user can also obtain driving directions from their current location to the destination. Again, Easily done in BT. Menu choice 6: Home Notes! - this is an optional paid plug in I bought for a couple of bucks. It allows the user to take notes on the phone; In this case, notes for when people view homes, they can take notes on each place within the agents app. Adds a bit of value for little investment on our part. And as usual, easily done in BT. Menu choice 7: Device Info - this is a toss in; there is a free BT plugin that allows the user to view details about their device. It's a nice gimme. So simple to implement. It has a splash page with the Agent's photo and contact info when it opens, and with the exception of the "notes" page, it's all done with BT's default tools. Once the final is done, it's not really a big deal to change parameters (name, phone, email, website URL, etcetera) for new clients. Just make a list of the things you need from them (usually just a photo and the info from their business card will do) and in a day or two you can blow them away with a deliverable product. In any event, enjoy BT. It's kind of fun :) cheers! SmugWimp

Hey @SmugWimp, That is a really good business plan and thank you for sharing. I'm going to copy your plan, with your permission, and start one like this. I'm sure you new the agent first? Did you just call and ask him if you could create a app for him? LA

Didn't know you were in a wheelchair @LA. My best mate's in a wheelchair, he took up tennis a couple of years ago and in the latest world rankings he's in at 380. Still celebrating! We're trying to persuade him to try for Brazil 2016, so we can all go as support staff! :) Thought it'd be a great idea for an app, but he's not interested. Sorry, back to the thread..

Hi @raveyd, Yes I became a quadriplegic at the at of 16, I'm 42 now. When I was younger, I played semi-pro wheelchair rugby and now I am paying for it..lol I would tell your friend to go for it, but he knows what he wants/needs to do and I'd don't blame you for going as support staff. LA

Yeah, you're right, he'll do what he wants to do. He's tried rugby and basketball to improve his strength for tennis, but he just does basketball now! That's a great business plan of @SmugWimp, guess it could be applied to car delearships as well, or any kind of dealership really.

LA, I've known my friend the realtor for a while now. On Guam (where I live) it's a fairly small community, and at worst if you don't know them, you know their friend. He approached me about the app a while ago, but at the time I wasn't into iOS and Android development (and still am not, heh) but told him I'd give it a shot. That was a few months ago over golf. I've been putting it off due to the iOS/Android learning curve, but when I found Buzztouch, I used it as my 'self tutorial' just to see what BT could do, and got most of it done within a day, and tested little tweaks over the next couple of days. I was pleased to find BT can do quite a bit, given a little imagination. And of course you're welcome to use any idea that works for you; Just don't solicit for customers from the greater Guam/CNMI area ;) My big challenge right now is getting my @#$%# DUNS number approved by Apple. I'm on attempt #3 to get my company registered, but so far no luck. I keep getting DUNS errors during the registration process. I keep petitioning DUNS, they 'correct' the problem, but I have to wait two weeks for the Apple DUNS database to refresh. So 15-20 days later I try again and it's still not resolved. I'm thinking of registering as an individual for some of my smaller stuff while waiting for this to be fixed, but I really want to have my company as the listed publisher. Still; that's not a BT problem. When Apple and I can shake hands, it'll all be done in a snap. Google was a breeze, but I just got my first Android device (a Samsung Galaxy 7") and wanted to play with it to make sure it worked on an actual device before I released it. I'm all about the Japanese 'Kiritsu' way of thinking, where smaller entities come together to prosper in a market dominated by larger entities. And I don't care who is leading a government, the little guy hasn't a loud voice, and we need as big a boost as possible. So if you think I can help, ask. If I think you can help, rest assured I won't be shy about asking. Cheers! SmugWimp

Hey @SmugWimp, I will let you have the market in Guam..lol..j/k I think you are right on about "smaller entities come together to prosper in a market dominated by larger entities". I believe that is just good business sense. I hope @ParaReality is reading this and soaking this in, like I am, because you just gave a great business plan. I will ask you, when I need help, and if you need help with Android..let me know. LA

@SmugWimp That is a great business plan! About your issue with the DUNS number, I had to go through the same situation you went through. But no fear, there is a solution! If all you want to do is add a company name to your profile, then you're in luck. You can accomplish this with an individual developer account. When you go to set up your first app in itunes connect, it asks you want you want your name to appear as in the app store. I chose this route when I first started this business last year.
