Buzztouch online meeting October 2

Buzztouch community - I will be hosting a one hour online meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, October 2) at 1:00 PM Central Time featuring an update from David Book. Several of the “top 25” will be participating as well. The subject is an update on recent activities by David and Buzztouch, and near-term activities on David's to-do list. This is a non-technical discussion and will be limited to one hour. About ten spots are still available, so if you are interested in joining us, please e-mail me at [email protected] . This is a pilot for future online discussions to supplement the Buzztouch community experience, so I’ll also be interested in your ideas for topics, times and more. Thanks in advance for those already participating!

You already got my email :-) but I want to encourage ANYONE who is interested in participating in the buzztouch community - and especially getting your voice out there and communicate - to email Warren. You'll meet some amazing people and be able to talk and bring your ideas and opinions out, and even possibly have a chance to participate in changes. You never know - but this is a great time to jump in! Looking forward, Cheers, David buzztouchmods.com

@mysps - I'm using GoToMeeting to facilitate these discussions, which provides a recording tool. So, yes, I intend to record and upload it to a spot easily accessible from the buzztouch website.

Email sent! Hoping the family commitments don't get in the road. Don't mind if it's in the middle of the night here in Australia :)

More to come! Sorry for the audio problems on my end, I will use a wired connection next time. I will send a more detailed e-mail soon asking for some feedback, but yes, more of these meetings with more different topics. And for all that have volunteered to help, thanks - I will definitely take you up on it!

I am here to help in anyway. Just to let you know we will be hosting the "Women of Buzztouch" https://plus.google.com/u/0/events/cm0u7qiurqu9f7vj2cfq4f1t83c on October 4 @ 7pm PDT. This event was intended for all the geeky girls but ALL is welcome. David is scheduled to be there!!!! . We Created it to get more of the "community" feel. We also wanted to try to see how google events were like. I don't like anyone to feel excluded. Warren, I am so glad you got this started. If we can do this more for the buzztouch community I think this will be great. Informal event but intention is to have educational videos, chats and one and one help from girls that are developers too! Focus will be on introductions and meetup events Hope to see you there! Sheri

This event rocked! I'm gonna participate in the UK Meetup on the 26th, and any others I can be part of. You know what would be cool? A shared Google Calendar where people could put in their events and all the info. I just created one, but can't figure out how to share the link with everybody. :-( Mark

Here's the link: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=dhre9910fhdjv8ub2tjits3ucc%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Phoenix And here's the email address for the calendar. I "think" this is the way you add events: [email protected] If anybody wants to try and add an event, give it a shot!

@GoNorthWest - great idea!!! Howz' about we create a way to post to a calendar on buzztouch? Duh! Laughing a bit about this. But, like so many other times, it takes a group hang out to come up with the best ideas. Google does an awesome calendar but without a gmail address it's tough to participate. I'll see what we can put together without worrying too much about it being fancy. Just a place to post meetups, scheduled web events, etc. Stoked to make as many of these as I can...next stop...Women of Buzztouch on Thursday at 7:00 PDT.

Google calendar sharing- Right click on the calendar when you see it on the left sidebar. You'll see a settings link there which gets you into all the good settings for calendars. Make sure that is a PUBLIC Calendar. I see you link but not able to add to it.... speaking of Google Calendar, Add Events.... I've spent the last week studying Google API's and looking at using the using the calendar in a native iOS app. I just got it to spit out some JSON and was about to send a message to David to ask for direction/hints in using that JSON... **maybe** this might make a fun group project? We're all gonna need to learn to leverage Google API's better to make killer apps. I think i'm knocking on the door with OAuth......

My apologies - I have not had the opportunity to post the audio yet. Spent the past two days working at the local Chamber Business Expo, will be back to the real world tomorrow...
