Distributing from SHCP.

Hi If one has a limited amount of installs that will be not more than 1000 on iOS and 1000 on Android, is it needed to get app in stores? If not, can I distribute through a link on my website, or by sending a link to the clients' customers? Thank you. Weidies

Well, Android no problem; just put an APK file that they can download to the device. Easy Peasy. iOS is always a little more involved, but fortunately it's not as bad as in previous years. You'll have to get an 'Enterprise' developer account, at $299 per year rather than the usual developer membership @ $99 a year. This will allow you to distribute apps to devices outside of the App Store, in quantities larger than the 100 test devices that an individual account does. https://developer.apple.com/programs/enterprise/ Hope this helps. Cheers! -- Smug

Thank you Smug. The app is already in both stores, so I just need to keep updating. If I submit a new version of an app and something is not accepted, by Apple, do they drop the old one? Thank you Weidies

Not that I am aware of... But so far (knock on wood) they've approved all my updates. Cheers! -- Smug

Hi Weidies, I once submitted a new version of an app that was not accepted by Apple; they did not remove the old one. And a couple of years agao I looked into the enterprise licence, I found the Apple rules for who you are allowed to distribute to under this licence are pretty strict. Long story short, it only seemed to apply to employees of one business. Alan

Thank you, Smug and Alan. I will go for "Submitting". I never changed the app to "Live mode" so it is going to be a challenge not dropping the wrong pages t the wrong time. Weidies
