Soo I have been looking through the forum at different posts about the AT53 plugin. I just puchased it yesterday after I subscribed for my membership. I am a little unclear as to whether or not you can use this plugin with youtub vids? Can someone please clarify this for me as I tried with youtube vides yesterday but when I ran them on a device it gave me an error message.

Hello West Tex, Unless something has changed the AT53 Video plugin does not work with a YouTube link or embed. At least I was unable to use it for youtube videos. It works very well with videos that are local or stored on your own server. In order for someone to give you specific instructions on using YouTube you will need to let us know if you are distributing on iOS or Android. You could use HTML. Good luck, Mike

I am using androind currently but plan to add to apple later. I have tried with HTML but for some reason it will not show in Android 3.0 but will in Google 3.0.

Welcome new member :) That plugin was originally coded to play videos you packaged with your app. David did a great job extending it to play vids from URL's. The problem with YouTube links is that they are encoded. Every vid you upload to YT gets converted into like 10 formats behind the scenes so that the most optimized one is fed to each client. I have heard folks being able to extract the full working link and use it with the plugin but I've not done this. Also for iOS look at this plugin. It has limitations but it's a pretty well designed piece of code. Linking to to other videos you don't post will eventually fail. Youtube has some copyright stuff built into to try and stop it.

If your using android and you want to stream Yotube videos, then use the sp youtube plugin, works great for android apps!
