Creating your own SSL Certificate

A discussion about App Transport Security, and SSL/TLS for the future prompted me to pound out a quick tutorial on how to create your own SSL certificate, and a little about how and why.

It's fairly quick and pointed, so I'd appreciate some corrections or improvements if possible.

Cheers!

Thanks @nadthevlad. Just to make sure I understand this, our existing self-hosted apps on http will be ok. This will affect new apps.

And the solution is just to add SSL to our self-hosted domains. Right?

Fortunately, Apple delayed the implementation of ATS.

But eventually, all apps will need https to communicate with their 'mothership'.

Cheers!
