I have been so tempted to use that on the forums, but I felt it would come across as rude and sarcastic (even though that's how i want it to be)

Well, you have better restrain that I have. Although I got to say that generally in BT forum users do a lot more research before posting than other forums. Beside, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was merely demonstrating how to use the "site:buzztouch.com" search tip on Google.

oh no I wasn't saying you were being sarcastic. It is used a lot by people on Reddit for when people ask questions on a forum

Myself, I prefer sarcasm, but I always felt like people wouldn't get the spirit in which it was provided (usually with a silly grin on my face). As I told my students: If you can memorize it, that's great. But I don't care if you 'know' the answer; I only care if you can 'find' the answer. And fast. This of course was 'pre-internet' (although I was paying massive compuserve bills at the time) and you had to haul around a wheelbarrow full of reference books if you wanted to find anything. I made the leap from Yahoo and Lycos to Google early on, and haven't quite let go yet. Cheers! -- Smug
