I am looking for a good replacement service that works like Scringo. My apps utilize connecting users and giving them the ability to chat in chat rooms and such. But musing over it a bit, and having setup some IRC servers in the past, it shouldn't be too much trouble to customize a web based chat client: https://kiwiirc.com and either host your own IRC server, or maybe register a channel on an existing IRC server, making it private for only your app users.
