Retina Icons

So I'm wanting to make an app like you guys. I am looking for icons, for the tab bar and stuff, at Retina quality. Until now, I have been using the old v1.5 icons, which work rather well. But they are not Retina. Do any of you know where I could get a set of icons, very similar to BT v1.5, which have Retina quality. I would like to get them free, if possible.

Hi Annandale, I use these and find them very good: http://blog.twg.ca/2010/11/retina-display-icon-set/ And they're free! From the page: "They are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license. You may use the icons for both commercial and non-profit purposes, as well as modify them (in fact we challenge you to make ‘em better)." -William

Thanks for the link. That'll be helpful! With these icons, can I keep the same name, or do I need to change the high quality images to @2x on the end?

I don't know if I'm doing it right, but this is what works for me: I add all these .png graphics to my BT_Images folder. The total is only 293kb, so no big deal sie wise. This way I can reference whatever image I may need for an app even after it's approved in the app store. I then upload and reference the file I need in the tabbed layout setup. (i.e. home_24.png for the Home link) Strangely (or appropriately - I don't know), the only files that looks good in the tab bar are the _24.png files. Looks fine on my 3GS & my 5. I had my app approved by Apple using them. I hope that explanation helps! -William

If I made icons myself they'd all look like this: http://www.kozmoweb.com/clientuploads/apps/icons.png (And these are the good ones I made!) :-P -William

These aren't retina but I came across this today. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2013/01/06/freebie-gemicon-icon-set-600-psd-source-png/ 600 psd and png icon set if you use Photoshop or something similar to edit. "Gemicon, a set of over 600 original high-quality icons in resolutions of 16 × 16, 32 × 32 and 64 × 64 pixels."
