I've had a BT server setup just waiting for the revenue to come in to offset the price (and of course, I haven't released my first app yet, lol!) It's a little frustrating if you have many apps to transfer, but in the end worthwhile since it not only gets you self hosted, but gives you a chance to fix/update/add to your old apps when resubmitting.
