How do I keep phone from powering down while html5 audio plays in my iOS app?

Hi folks, I have an app that plays audio using the html5 audio tag in a webview. I am now testing on real phones and find that while playing my audio the phone powers off (sleep) like it usually does if you do not touch the screen for a time. Is there any way to stop this? Perhaps there is a JavaScript function that can invisibly simulate an action to keep the screen alive? Any ideas would be much appreciated.
