Newcomer to Scringo

Hello everybody. This is my 1st post here and I also joined today. I've just started working on Scringo this past weekend but keep hitting bumps but have gotten past them on my own so far but now I have another issue. I'm trying to import the Scringo SDK (Android) into Eclipse but it won't open the libs files that they're in for one, so that's out. Another problem I'm having is when I go to Help/Install New Software to add a link I haven't been successful there. I'm pretty new to coding/programming in general so this is my 1st project I'm taking on (1st of many I hope). What type of link do I have to add to open the Scringo SDK in the program let alone any of them in my libs folder?

Link me to Learning Path please. If it has a answer to my question then I'm all for it, I've been looking at YouTube video tutorials (including the one from this site) and they didn't help AT ALL. I hope someone has a solution for me. You do know what I'm talking about right? http://www.scringo.com/docs/android-guides/quickstart/ It doesn't even give me a link in here and I don't know where to find one for installing new software.

When you download the Scringo SDK then it will let you import the sdk and libs. Just select the Android one here and download it. There is a lot of info on the forums about Scringo. http://www.scringo.com/docs/downloads/ LA

I dl'ed it already, my issue is I CAN'T IMPORT IT INTO ECLIPSE. I thought I explained that in the beginning, you're giving me a link I'm familiar with as well as dl'ed. Don't make it seem that easy because if it was I wouldn't be here asking questions. At the risk of repeating myself why can't Eclipse even OPEN the libs files including the Scringo SDK that I also put in the libs folder?

Easy there Tiger! Let's rewind a few posts. First and foremost welcome to BT, a ton of helpful people on here all willing to jump in, for no commercial gain but to help realise your app goals. We've all done the first post thing as well, more often than not when we get stuck! Been there, done that. I know how frustrating it can be when Eclipse seems to behave in a manner no help file can assist with. I haven't messed with it for a while and know I'll hit the same issues you have probably experienced recently. What I do know is that it is set up correctly on my Mac and will work and import when I fire it up. So what happens when you try to import it? What error? Sounds like Eclipse isn't even recognizing the folder as a readable doc, yes? Is Eclipse opening everything else? Is is just Scringo? Do you have your app running already? Phone/AVD? You said you were working on Scringo at weekend but only registered here today, was Eclipse running Scringo on another platform? You said you were also new to Eclipse have you had anything compiled and running yet? Anyway, as @LA said, there are a ton of useful threads on Scringo in the forums, I'll check back in, don't give up, stick with it and if you don't figure it out someone on here will jump in and help. Who knows, maybe 12 months from now you'll help a newcomer with a Scringo issue! Cheers and Happy Wednesday eve. MacApple

b.c 3000 make sure you have unzipped the folder lol. I dont know where you got that you have to mess with the libs folder because you dont, you import the whole scringo folder. you probably seen this,if not follow it : http://www.scringo.com/docs/buzztouch/android-integration/ also check this out: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=3D1785DE0847EBF6B271E14&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=&createdBy=worker73&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory= with your "Help/Install New Software" eclipse problem, I guess you need it for the eclipse keystore plugin? thats the only you reason you will really need it and you can find videos to help you with that plus many more by the great GoNorthWest: https://www.youtube.com/user/GoNorthWest welcome to buzztouch and study up!

I'll have to look at these links closer but I'm at the point where I might have to ask for some one-on-one help in the form of a Skype conference or Team Viewer, which I assume some of you are familiar with. I figured out what the issue is, it goes further back to when I go to Eclipse and select Help/Install New Software, it's at the step where I go to my Control Panel in Windows XP and head to the System to Environmental Variables, for some reason those steps aren't working for me and the path gets lost. All I'm trying to do is link the Scringo SDK along with the other folders in my library with Eclipse, here's the tutorials I followed: http://androidforums.com/application-development/2314-installing-eclipse-android-sdk-windows-xp.html (this was the 1st and is pretty old) <a href="http://www.scringo.com/blog/how-to-install-the-android-sdk/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.scringo.com/blog/how-to-install-the-android-sdk/</a> (much more recent by almost a year) By the way what's in that Dropbox link?

Ok now that I'm watching the youtube video I already noticed something else--when I run Eclipse I run it in the Eclipse folder, not the Android SDK pack. For some reason when I try to run Eclipse in that file it keep saying it can't find or run the Java Virtual Machine............. Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine, that's what it says. Since then I run the Eclipse in the Eclipse folder. Do you think I need to re-install/remove something here? I was thinking I might have to do that but wasn't sure. That might be the main issue why it's not finding the path besides what I mentioned above about the Environmental Variables and not successfully locating the path.

That video might be a solution but I honestly have NO IDEA what just happened, esp since there's no voice instructing me. I'm going to need a lil' more help and since you might be busy I hope someone else might be able to explain if I can't figure it out on my own. I might reinstall JDK though, what you said made me realize that I had opened it inside of one of my external hard drives and I just moved the folder the other day. Seeing as that didn't change things maybe I should follow this video and if I still don't get it right I'll probably reinstall it. I already deleted Eclipse from my C Drive and that didn't change anything, the Eclipse that was in the Android SDK was still saying the same error--couldn't fine the Java Virtual Machine.

Ok I have got everything installed but I've now found myself with a new problem--importing the Scringo SDK. The tut I followed on the website isn't very helpful at all: http://www.scringo.com/docs/android-guides/quickstart/ I'm not sure why the file doesn't show when I right-click on the project and select "Propertie" and go to Android. Only 1 thing shows up in the window. Let me post some dropbox links to show what I mean: ..... Ok I see that dropbox is behaving retardedly by not allowing me to share links so I'll have to try a different file storage site for this: http://rg.to/file/2252b230530ad1815020854b80f85595/scringosdkissue1.jpg.html (this 1st link is me trying to follow the tutorial on Scringo but not getting the sdk file showing up in the window) http://rg.to/file/6ff915baf40d04b0ab874c7f92de0099/scringosdkissue2.jpg.html (this is me double-clicking on the Scringo nanoicon on the side and getting this error message) I'm very confused as to what to do here or what's going on. I was also told about some Buzztouch plugins I needed to dl but most of them I have to pay for which I'm not planning on doing anytime soon. As far as the free ones I'm not sure where they are or how to access them let alone what to do with them. I'm not sure what the purpose is on any of these. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

this is how i did it but you have to create a buzztouch project 1st <a href="https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=3D1785DE0847EBF6B271E14&fid=F006D74B653CA9FFE3CB28E&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=3D1785DE0847EBF6B271E14&fid=F006D74B653CA9FFE3CB28E&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=2</a> and you must instal google play services library. use the scringo documentation along with the link I gave here Joe

Yeah those link postings was too much with all that info. I'm going to be heading out in a few but I would love to get some help with this. I'll let you know when I'm back on-line. I'll peep this link (which looks familiar) as well but you're telling me I need to kickstart a Buzztouch project? It might be why I can't access the Scringo SDK, I was looking at video tutorials yesterday and got frustrated because all I kept seeing was BT files, of which I have none nor can access any.
