My new App Copier tool has been updated to now support the JSON Snippet Keeper. Now, if you copy an app that uses a plugin that isn't installed on your server, the screen will be added to your control panel using the JSON Snippet Keeper (if you have that installed). I had an app working great on iOS, but needed an Android version. It was a tabbed app and I didn't want images on the tab bar for Android, but did for iOS (consistent with current user interface guidelines). After getting the iOS app the way I wanted, I simply made a copy of it and used the copy for the Android app. Now, I can change just the things I need, but didn't have to go through all the work of creating every screen, menu item, etc again.

lol. eventually i will. but i use the text editor so much and i hardly touch the control panel to begin with so its not an immediate tool that i need.. however, im updating all of my android apps to 3.0 bc of all of the great plugins that chris1 made specifically for use with v3.0 :)

Thanks for the update and the enhancements! Currently testing it... It copies all screens, great! But it doesn't copy the menu items (and MacImage Gallery items). Is it a tool limitation or a bug related to BT3.0? Cheers Jack

Thanks a lot, Chris, I've seen you updated the App Copier tool and now it copies the ChildItems too, that's great! Just one important tip about ChildItems, that may be useful for people creating apps in languages where some letters have diacritics (é, ñ, ç, etc.): you'll have to re-type these letters in the menu items, the tool transforms them! This phenomenon may also have a side-effect: I copied an app using one Menu Advanced and some Buzz Carousel menus. Only the Menu Advanced had letters with diacritics in the menu items. On testing the copied app, my test device said it couldn't compile the Menu Advanced. And I saw in the CP that the item ID was wrong. I don't know if this issue is related to the transformation of the letters with diacritics or if it's a mere coincidence. Anyway, my Menu Advanced screen was loaded by a top right button on a screen and I solved the issue by reselecting it in the settings of this screen. Simply. Hope it may help somebody! I am not self hosted. I have an app in my BuzzTouch account that needs to be duplicated many times over (state based versions of the app). Is there any chance this app copy tool will duplicate an within BuzzTouch? In other words, copy from BuzzTouch.com to BuzzTouch.com? App has about 50 screens and this would make this painless. Craig - unfortunately, this is a self-hosted only tool. It requires a php installed on the server, so I can't upload it to Buzztouch.com. Also, less security risks on self-hosted environments.

Question about this tool. I purchased it and used it to copy an app. It copied all the plugins perfectly, but the new copied app had no content in it. Is this the way the tool is supposed to work? For example, my app has a map plugin in it. When I used the copier tool, the new copied app had a map screen automatically generated, but the map was blank...none of the actual map data points were copied over. Thanks for the clarification!

Chris, Is there any reason that the copy tool couldn't be made secure enough to work on BuzzTouch.com? This is really the "killer app" for BuzzTouch, IMO. Thanks Craig
