To answer your question I'm not sure, would doubt anything will break if you don't become a member but it does seem like a very small price to pay for access to an incredible suite and community. Nobody would kill your account. Would be reasonable and fair to assume if you decided not to renew you would of course lose access to the benefits being a member brings. As anyone that has even dipped their wee toe into BT knows, they are nothing if not fair and transparent. I suspect that if you don't renew your subscription, you will still be able to use/modify your apps, but simply not add or delete any.
