I have been using Startapp monetizing service quiet for a couple of months now but was not going to post this tutorial till i made it sure that Startapp is really good source of earning revenue. Now that i am sure that this service is really beneficial, i am writing this tutorial. Startapp is a monetization solution which pays the developers integrating their SDK in to their apps on each download of their app. They pay $0.01 (for rest of the world) and $0.05 (for download form U.S.) on download of each app. Thus, if you get 100 downloads from rest of the world on a given day, you earn $.1.00 for that day. And in case of downloads from U.S. you earn $.5.00 per 100 download. @Ravey- I found this one accidentally and decided to give it a shot. At first i was receiving half of what i have stated above but since start of this month i am receiving double than that i used to get earlier. They changed their policy and now pay the developers double than earlier since Google changed the privacy policy. @MrDavid- This service is available only for Android devices only and not available for iOS. As i stated above i have started using it for 2 months now. Started using this service at the end of June. My revenue till end of August did not reach the min $.50/- so i have not received any payout from them. This month i have earned around about $.2/- per day since my apps are downloaded about 175-250 per day. My revenue earned earlier month was about $.20.85/- and in July it was about $.13.52/-. In June it was about $.4.06/-. This month till yesterday the revenue earned is about $.37/-. I am from India and for some reason the Google does not allow Indian Developers to sell paid apps. We can sell only free apps. So in order to monetize from apps we need to use these sort of services. And i found that my revenue earned from startapp is more than even the admob. My admob revenue for last 3 months is only $.21/-. Thank you MrDavid for your kind wishes. @mysps- Yes, for sure this is one of the best monetization source. The best thing is that you can add any other ad services like admob and revmob with this sdk. The only thing against startapp policy is integrating a push notification.

ok great so i could still use airpush using the smartwall which is generating more than the push at the moment. sweet! how long have you used airpush? it has been my main source for android income, ranging from around $90-120/monthly for about 2 apps really. would be nice to see their comparison with your startapp numbers thanks again

@mysps- I have not used the airpush in my any of my live apps yet. I will release one this sunday in one of my app. The airpush tut was created after one of our BT member faced some errors integrating it in his app. I had a teamviewer session with that member and fixed that issue but later on he faces similar issues. So i thought it would be useful if i create a vid tutorial and share with app other members. The figure you have given are really cool. I am looking forward to see how airpush goes with my apps. I will inform you about it sometimes later.

ok, followed guide, got to last part where i add the code the oncreate in activity base java. saved cleaned compiled but now app just crashes on opening. any ideas

Its probably because you are trying it on emulator but it works quite fine on android device but to warn you startapp uses apperhand important which is plankton virus and your app will be said as virus by most antiviruses

Thanks for the tip. I only test on devices. Never use emulator but it just crashes.

Would you recommend not using it then?

Can't figure out why app crashes when I add final code to it. It compiles with all the changes up to that point without crashing on device. Well and truly stuck on this one :(

Testing on galaxy s2 running revolt jb ROM. I add the import then just below superoncreate I add the code just above btdebbugger show it. What can I be doing wrong?
