Link back to a tabbed layout

In other apps I link back to the home screen that is non-tabbed by the menu. Is there any way to link back to a tabbed screen? Shane

Not really. Only linking back to a splash screen sort of works. Still need to figure it out.

OK. Hate to see a member have unanswered questions, maybe this slipped through when the forums stay so busy. So you are trying to link your tabs back to the home screen, splash is separate to home screen so this should work. The splash isn't one of your tabs at bottom is it? It should be a separate entity altogether. You app is either a tabbed menu or a home screen menu, correct?

I'm fine with the menu version. The tabbed layout is the problem. If I use subfolders there is no way to link it back to the main tabbed screen without going through the splash again. In the menu type of home screen you can link it back to that menu when in subfolders

Ah, OK. I think I know what you mean then. You could use a top right button taking you back to the home screen if you don't want to play with the code. Only problem would be the back button would still be active and would in effect back up through all previous screens until you hit home.

That's what I'm trying to do, is make the to right button go to the home screen. No screen to connect it to.

Got you. I have an app I was playing with that has the top right button link to the home menu / first tab on the tabbed menu setup. So you have a splash screen then 5 tabs, yeah? Why not after the home screen gets navigated away from just add in the home button on top right on subsequent screens?

There is no screen that is "home". If I link it to one of the tabs it pulls.up the plugin screen and not the tabbed home

OK, I'm not following you here. You have the following: 1. Splash screen that when cleared leads into 5 tabs. 2. Tab one is then in effect your home screen for arguments sake, yes? 3. When you navigate into app you want the top right button to navigate back to the screen that shows after splash screen has cleared?

Correct. I found that on some Android devices using the back button puts it on a loop and will not let you go back. Having a home button on the top right allows access to the home screen. I dont have a way to link it to the tabbed screen

OK. Let me have a play around, have an Android app I should have done some work on, nudge this thread if you don't get it and I'll post back any findings. Shame as it works well in iOS. Sorry I didn't get this sorted for you.

I link it to the slash screen on tabbed layout. Not perfect but works somewhat. -Shane

I put this in your post, but I'll throw it here too... And again, nothing I've tried, just a thought... If the splash screen works, have you thought about adding an additional splash screen... Make it blank, with a clear background color, and no animation or delay. Call it, and have it transition to your menu again... It might work... (then again, I haven't tried it...) Cheers! -- Smug Or don't make it blank... go out of your way to have a huge 'thank you for using my app' or 'eat at joes'.... or sell some advertising ;)
