Is this a midi file? I'm pretty sure those aren't supported. I'd go for mp3...that's most definitely supported on Android. Mark

I'm not sure if you can play midi files natively. You might need to use some 3rd party code. Have you tried just an mp3 file in testing?

@GoNorthWest and @Stobe, Are you two saying midi is not supported Android in general because I know you can create a raw folder which Android plays midi. LA

You can also call AssetManger and play mid files or create a string like this to specify what ext. you want to play: private static final String[] EXTENSIONS = { ".mp3", ".mid", ".wav", ".ogg", ".mp4" }; LA

Ok, I wasn't sure about Android. I'm pretty certain about iOS (without 3rd party)

What does LogCat show when you're on the screen that should be playing the audio? Also...is this on an Emulator? And if so, are we sure that the emulator will play sounds? I've never heard any sound from mine.
