Copyright Update…. patience is key )

Some of you might remember I wrote a tutorial on copyrighting your apps… It's in this post: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=9940AE05885B2AABA914CF2 Just to let you know a 'ballpark' time frame in which to expect a response… The 'example' I used while writing the tutorial was my 'Over Here, Guam' app. While 'effectively registered' on July 26th 2013 I got notification via US Postal Service today, January 29th 2014; approximately 6 months. That doesn't mean your app isn't protected; once you've 'filed', you're in the system. But getting the process completed takes some time. FYI. Cheers! -- Smug

As I believe I said before: Great post buddy. Some much needed info in there and solid analysis. Happy days.

This is a great example of something that wouldn't have even occurred to me if Smug hadn't posted this topic. The technical stuff comes to me naturally and with relative ease. Some of the business stuff doesn't even occur to me until somebody else points it out.

Just a heads up. If you live in Australia, you are automatically protected by copyright as soon as your "whatever" is published. My only suggestion is that I mail a printout of the "whatever", (screenshots of the app if applicable) to myself by registered post the day I publish/turn over to the client. Just been through a very lengthy but ultimately successful infringement claim.
