Who's App Ktchn Ltd?

Exactly as the title suggests, who is this company on Buzztouch? I downloaded a train times app and it had the exact BT characteristics, I recognised it immediately! I've got some improvements for them, so who are they? Someone named Janak I've found?

No idea who he/she is, but the app you're referring to is nothing but a single Custom URL so I can concur with you by saying I have some MAJOR improvements for them. Really surprised that this app got approved by apple.

If he wanted to be known we would know :-) Not all folks want people to know that their app is powered by buzztouch, for whatever reason. Best to try and not get in touch with someone publicly and find him privately, my suggestion, and also forum rules, hehe. Apple does have a contact developer link, send him an email / contact with suggestions like that, if possible - if not, you can give others here on the forum suggestions too ;-) Cheers, David Van Beveren http://btmods.com/chat ^ Chat with other BT members live! http://btmods.com/hire ^ Hire MrDavid for one of his services!

That is an app that had it's WebView URL switched from a jQuery-based web app with a Tabbar over to a URL of a full-up web site. Hilarious! Could be accidental, could be purposeful. The power of remote control allows for changing an app! You can report to the Dev. If no response after a few weeks, then report to Apple. The only Janak on BT forums is this one, not related to me: http://www.buzztouch.com/janakmshah -- Niraj

Upon further perusal, this Dev simply pumps out apps by constructing WebView apps that point to the content relevant web site. For example, the content is real estate, apartments, cricket, train times, etc. This is clearly against Apple's rules. I cannot believe that Apple has been asleep at the wheel in reviewing these apps -- not for a quantity of 20+ apps. Perhaps, the remote control technique was used to swap out the URL after the app was published. I have not yet seen evidence that BT was used as the underlying technology. Easy enough to prove by unzipping the apps. After this bit of entertainment, I have better things to do ... :-) -- Niraj

That link is correct! I must say when I looked the company up, I saw the last name and thought of you! I didn't post his full name, incase he didn't want it on there.

I would be careful about assuming you found the right developer. Buzztouch has over 200,000 registered users, so it could be someone else with the same name.

Just my two cents. 1. The only crime this guy has committed is making a crappy app, if we were all convicted of that crime, we wouldn't be where we stood today - we start from somewhere, I'm sure eventually the dude will get more rejections, work harder, and improve his apps. Believe it or not, I have plenty of old custom URL apps that we're approved then and are still approved now for updates, simply because when they were initially submitted this was OK and more lax. 2. It's Apple's job to handle this - not us - we are not the BT police who go reporting to apple for every crappy BT app we find. This is not appropriate to tell folks to report to apple for having a low-quality app. If I we're him, I would be upset, Niraj - perhaps I can browse your list of apps and judge whether or not I should get in touch with Apple? I believe many BT Veterans here have supported "Add a quiz and remove it after approval" and some other sneaky things to get approved - I figure perhaps some of your apps are not 100% apple complaint either? Who knows - I'm not the BT police, neither are you. 3. Posting a link to a BT profile who IS or IS NOT the "offending" user is ALWAYS inappropriate. We have seen people do this before and it's never ended well. I don't care who you are, you should never post links or personal details of folks who clearly have not agreed to this negative view of his work. Unless the guy stole someones app - he has a right to full privacy. You may have (I have no idea) also just posted a link to a profile that has nothing to do with this guy, so kudos. Unfortunately, Susan@buzztouch is siding with you (@Niraj and @Ed Goodall) and thinks these things above are appropriate. I disagree. We agreed to disagree. Niraj, I hope you humbly edit your posts and Ed, in the future, perhaps search for folks on a less public forum through more private means - I know your intentions we're good, but the dude on the other end probably would or will not have liked reading all of this on a public page. Crappiness is in the eye of the beholder. Btw, google the UK company name; the guy has published 20+ apps.

Why does what matter? It's a slow news day in the buzztouch world. We are just commenting, free speech etc. The subject of the original post asks who is App Ktchn Ltd? Its a UK public company, you can find details on google and contact them that way if anyone still wants to make a suggestion about the app. Personally, I think he is making a good go developing many apple apps in a short space of time and I wish him good luck.

Ahh, so my three points are invalid due to a slow news day and free speech - sounds like you would fit right in with the Fox News folks. Gotcha. 10-4. Understood. @David - your points are well taken, and I agree with you on most levels. But the best way to stop things from happening are to drop it and move on. You said your peace, so let's forget about this topic and continue focusing on driving productivity.

Just as how Edinboro, PA magically ended up in North Carolina, smack between Durham and Wake Forest? Hahaha :-) You best check your map link and coordinates, Tall David.

Interesting discussion and I am more awake now. On closer inspection, I noticed the app @Ed Goodall mentions appears to links directly to a 3rd party site - http://m.nationalrail.co.uk/pj/home.html. If @Niraj is correct about the app being changed after approval, it does raise some interesting issues. On the flip side, if one can sign agreements for 'fronting' these kind of websites, it makes for easy apps that maybe people want. My first reaction was based on them being bona-fide developers. The publisher has a lot of apps and whilst I have not downloaded the others, from the published descriptions at least some of them seem to be similar in construction, as @Niraj said. Curious. @Mr David, I'm not trying to argue with you but your response to me (and others) comes over as sarcastic, I don't know why, presumably "sounds like you would fit right in with the Fox News folks" means something if one watches Fox News. I was adapting the idiom "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Clearly my dry sense of humour did not come across, but for clarity, I would not like to say this app is crappy, I am not judging, I am intrigued. I think @Susan is right about being careful and I believe contacting them via the published channels would be fine if one feels the need to do so. Anyway, the famous quote by Voltaire springs to mind - I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
