Spot finder plugin update: 2.1

Ive updated the "Spot Finder" plugin so that it shows the picture in the same aspect ratio as its taken and doesnt stretch to the screen size, making it look distorted. In the last update 2.0, I made a new UI and used new code for the plugin. I also made the buttons on the tab bar, regular buttons, instead of tab bar buttons, so you can easily swap them out for your own. Another thing I added was the ability to take notes about the spot marked. This plugin is intended to mark only ONE spot for you to find later. Press the button to mark a spot again only takes away the last spot marked and marks your new current spot. Sorry for confusing some of you with my description. If you have any bugs you can pm me and also report the bug on Chris1's buzz-tools.com If you have questions about anything, dont hesitate to ask. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Feel free to suggest enhancements on this plugin. Or any other plugin also. Thank you Cheers Amen -Chris Coffee

Thanks Chris! As an fyi, a good practice is to put the release notes in the readme.txt file so they can be easily referenced when looking at the plugin page.

Ahh thanks for reminding me, I'll do that now. Thats the only plugin I forgot to do that in. Also I have a question thats off topic. I found this post where you had problems with apple accepting a donation app. I have a similar app I want to make to help fund my grandpa's Scholarship. https://www.facebook.com/zekecastroscholarship I was wondering if you could advise me on what company you used to process the payments and also the method you used. I want to get an idea so I can get with the people that are running the scholarship, and see what would be the best solution. This is the post I was following : https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=6B3F8B87A1A1F98C45F8432&command=isSearching&currentPage=1&topicTitle=pesky&createdBy=&repliedBy=&minViews=-1&maxViews=-1&minReplies=-1&maxReplies=-1&forumCategory=

Sure thing - I use Stripe for my payment processing. Takes a bit of work to configure the php, but it's extremely flexible. In the app I was working on, I added some code to open a mobile webpage for the donations in the native safari.

Hi CMCOFFEE, Thanks for the update. I installed it and downloaded my iOs project again to xcode. But I cant see any difference. It still stretches the image in a landscape image like before. Am I doing something wrong here? Regards, Gert-Jan

Getting better and better :-) Now the photo is not stretched anymore, but it would be better to have it displayed full screen, be it shot in portrait or landscape mode! When I take the photo in portrait mode, it's displayed in landscape, centered on the screen (with white spaces left and right). When I take it in landscape mode, it's displayed in portrait, centered on the screen (with white spaces top and bottom). In both cases, it's displayed smaller than it should be! Anyway, it's now almost perfect! Cheers Jack P.-S. Don't forget the warning message idea...

Don't worry about the background color of the button, it's not a really important issue ;-)

Also remember your Mobile Safari page can take the User back into the App via a URL Scheme. Complete that loop :-) -- Niraj

I didnt completely understand the warning.is it on the subtitle? Cool hey im not at my mac right now but you can try this: click on the xib file.on the left you will see a yellow circle.click on it and thrn click in its image view.then on the right you will see settings.the littke blue highlighted button is the type of settimgs.you can switch through it to find where it says aspect fit and change it to aspect fill.it also has a orientation setting where you can change it to both on the image view. I think that will make it work.this is if you dont want to wait for me to get back

The warning story... When you park your car, you trigger the plugin by tapping the red pin button. Then, when you go away, you can always see your relative location. But if by mistake you re-tap the red pin button, you erase the location of your car... Thus a warning message is useful: 'tapping this button will erase the location you saved before... are you sure you want to do this?'... I'll try to edit the xib tomorrow, thanks for the tip! Cheers Jack

Hi Chris, I've been playing with the XIB... not sure now it's there that you can fix the issue... 'Aspect fit' is the good setting in the XIB. Basically, the issue is that the photo is always rotated between the snapshot and its displaying. In other words: you shoot in portrait mode, the snapshot is displayed in landscape mode (and vice versa). I've made some screen captures to show you... Sent to your gmail address! Cheers Jack

It's the one displayed in your BT profile. Anyway, you can look at the snapshots here: http://www.fusions.ch/downloads/spotfinder-snapshots.jpg
