I sure wish I was in Orange County, for more reasons than one! I have built my working Map App, with a couple of bugs that I have started threads about for the past 3 weeks, and I have some ideas for future enhancements. Would be great to know of more people to discuss with.

Sign me up! I prefer Cal-State Long Beach. I can help by teaching a few BT-specific techniques and if you need help in organizing the event. I will ask Susan to notify the LA and Orange County people who are in the BT database of the event. As the time approaches, we can get a banner on the Forum page. We need a snazzy banner graphic for the OC/LA Buzzday! I have already notified David Book and Warren Evans of the upcoming Buzzday. -- Niraj

Nicks -- we drove all the way from LA to LV for the Buzzcon this past Spring. Hopefully you can come this way for an awesome Buzzday! -- Niraj

Make sure you involve Warren in planning anything big. There are a lot of buzztouch users in the area so you will find a lot of interested people.

@Niraj I don't drive, and wouldn't consider the immense travel logistics - and cost - of LAX and Orange County/South LA, without a significant agenda.

@Nicks App: Why don't you form a group in the Las Vegas area? I don't think it will be as big as the LA group, but there are some key Buzztouch users in the area.

@Grateful - I'd be happy to help get this put together with you. @Nicks App - What would you consider to be a "significant agenda"?

I would think that the virtual nature of BT would suffice anything I need or want to do, There seems to be talented people in several countries. If we can't get these Self Hosted 3.0 bugs tamed here, it isn't going to do much good to see what a few people people look like, act like and sound like in person. I have an App that works fine, has discrepancies in appearance in both iOS to Android... I'm thinking it would be nice to incorporate other PlugIns, but developers don't respond to PMs. or e-mails regarding implementation and integration.

I am going to focus on helping out for the BuzzDay in my region. @Nicks -- Got it, the logistics and appeal of a BuzzDay in the Los Angeles area is not for you. Please take your beefs to an appropriate post and keep those beefs out of this one. Please, let's stay on topic for this post. Thank you, -- Niraj

Hi everyone, Thanks for the interest and responses in this potential LA-LB-OC Buzztouch event. I plan on releasing an agenda this week (on this thread) and plan to set-up speaker panels and workshops once I build up a bigger team. Currently there are four of us (team) with an interested group of about ~45 people who want to learn and participate in app projects scattered around the region. I think this can be a very successful event and I look forward to working with all interested fellow Buzztouch enthusiasts as we kick this off. @Niraj: I got your message and will be in contact soon.

Hello everyone, I am still in the process of raising funds for the conference but it all is looking very good at the moment. We have one committed party and three more commitments to go. I will be updating everyone as we move along. I have posted about the event earlier today on the BT Forums. If you have not signed up yet, please do. To view the new post visit: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=A7E10EF2A2B65E74C4B52B2&tid=A7E10EF2A2B65E74C4B52B2 I will be in contact with everyone who signed up after this weekend. @David I would love for you to post the event on the forum but I want to make sure I am at least 50%+ funded before doing so. Thank you for signing up and being supportive of this event. I have heard amazing things about you from Niraj and I look forward to meeting you. Cheers, Grateful

Unfortunately due to funding issues, the event will be indefinitely postponed until the "Play By Play Apps” team can re-group and find a solution that will work with our current budget. We will be in touch in the coming year as we adjust our plans to host an event. We will be contacting everyone who signed up to not cause confusion and we thank you for your interest. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you can join us next time.

Too bad. David Book was planning on coming down, and with all the new offerings BT has, it would have been a great event.

Life is about time and money. While I really enjoyed living in LA, and later spending a couple of months around Newport Beach, the "recovery" of the economy has really caused lodging costs to skyrocket, and I assume meeting facility costs. My concern about traveling back to OC, was the unknowns of the distance to LAX, to lodging, to food, to the event. The event in Las Vegas probably was a bit easier to put together, as Las Vegas has 150,000 hotel rooms, starting at $35/night. And McCarran LAS airport is within a 15-minute taxi ride to most hotels. If you know your way around, you can take a $2 bus, $5 day pass since you're probably going to go up and down The Strip at least once. It might be easier to hold a Friday evening to Sunday afternoon multi-day event in Las Vegas, or at one of the California Casino Hotels, since everyone would want to spend 12+ hours a day together, anyway, and yearn to avoid the lost time of the daily commute logistics back home, especially late-night and morning, and finding food. 20 point trivia question: "What does the X in LAX stand for?". (No fair Googling if you don't already know!)
