Push Notifications

I'm looking at adding push notifications to my ios app. I presume the guide is for an app before it's published and it would be a slightly different process for an app already available in iTunes I could do with a bit of advice as I'm worried I might mess things up if I dont get it right

Personally I would go with Parse.com for push, it's easy, simple, clean, and the installation for the code is less than a minute. Certificates will always be a challange your first time, no matter where you do push, but they also have a great guide for that. Cheers! David https://buzztouchmods.com/hire-me

Is the Buzztouch control panel push notifitions not too good then? Or is parse just easier to set up? Thanks for the info anyway - I will take a look at it

I havent been able to get push to work with buzztouch (as self hosted, I hear on the buzztouch.com it works great). I know Parse has more options too like fancy push notifications, pre-written and times ones, etc. If your using buzztouch.com apps then use BT, if not, I would recommend Parse for SH. Hope that helps! David https://buzztouchmods.com/hire-me/

@MrVanbeeren, do you have the problem @Farcat and I have with Parse? We both find our apps will not start with Parse installed if they are not internet connected. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=6CA00EEDDED359A3AF7D260&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=2

Hmm, it definitely happens for me. Do you have parse push recipe for ios that you follow that you would be happy to message or post please? I wouldn't mind comparing to mine and play spot the difference. Cheers, Alan

Yeah, the Parse folks are dead to me now. They blamed BT code for Push not working when offline (how dare they?). As I say on my post I am now happy with Pushwhosh. :) Farcat

Hi mates, got your PM, but I did not do anything different then what the online push guide says from parse.com. ** I've integrated Parse to my 1.6, 2.0, and 3.0 apps fines, within 30 minutes each project, and all goes well, never had a problem. Perhaps there is a connection or similarity in difference that your projects are having that conflicts with it, who knows? Best Guess :-( David https://buzztouchmods.com/hire-me/

Thanks David, I also use the online guides from parse. How do you stop parse methods clashing with the BT push? Might that be where the differences are?

To be honest I don't think it clashes? I've never had a problem. https://www.parse.com/apps/quickstart Gotta head out.. wish best of luck, but sounds like you guys have another one that works :-) Sorry for the late replies of late. David https://buzztouchmods.com/hire-me/

Not sure what to do now whether to have a go at getting buzztouch push notifications set up or one of the suggested options. Has anyone got the buzztouch push set up? I think the guide would be slightly different for a published app. I presume I would have to get Certs and at some point recompile the app and resubmit to iTunes connect Any advice welcome
