Hey Hey!! ..New to the game.. this should be interesting!! :)

Hello everyone! I'm making an app for my business. I'm pretty new to the whole programming thing. I only know a little HTML & put together a website with wordpress.. and that's it! :( I've already watched the tutorials, and began working on the app. I've already been stumped more than once, but by reading through some of the questions on the forum & searching google, I have been able to figure things out so far, for the most part. **1 question.. I'm using HTML for a textarea so my customers can write on a page.. do I need to do something specific so that the notes they do write will be saved on that page, each & every time they go back to it??** I appreciate any help. And look forward to building some apps with you all.

Welcome aboard rwh! Nice work using the forum search and google to find answers. Saving user input is tricky. There is a notepad Plugin that will store the users notes if that can be used. https://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=63F726DE1DC5B2BFC4E9234 Glad you found us!

Thanks for reaching out, Ian. I checked out the link you provided, and it sounds like the PHP/SQL is a bit out of my league. As far as the Notepad plugin, I have thought about it. I'm just not sure I'll be able to do enough with it. For instance.. not sure if I could even have a numbered list going down the left side, and have users write their notes to the right of each number? (for example:) 1. (user answer goes here) 2. (user answer goes here) 3. (user answer goes here) 4. (user answer goes here) 5. (user answer goes here) Is there a way to contact the developer of the plugin?? Thanks again for reaching out & helping!!

Mark the Notepad Plugin developer is an awesome guy. Like all the members here! To contact a plugin developer you can click on their screen name in the plugin info. Once on their page you can send private messages. Hopefully we'll have a plugin in the market soon (it's a popular request ) then do a tutorial or Webinar on implementing PHP/SQL

Hi rwh, Welcome! If you look at the notepad plugin, click on the @GoNorthWest name and shoot him an e-mail on here. You can post your question in the forums and he will see it. Either way, @GoNorthWest will be happy to answer any questions about the plug. Again; Welcome! LA

Hey Everybody! Saving information to a device is actually pretty complicated...so much so that @David did the code for me for that. But, if you look through the Notepad plugin code, you can see exactly how it works, and maybe try and replicate it for your needs? I originally tried creating a Notepad using HTML5. I was able to get it working for iOS using a lot of the examples I found online. It works pretty well, and is fairly easy to implement. Just do a search for HTML5 and local storage. Lots of people have requested some of the features you guys mention in this thread. I won't be able to get to that stuff for a few months because of work and the spring sports season. But, like I mentioned, all the code for the Notepad is there and free for you to expand on and improve. Mark

Thanks for replying, Mark! I'm a complete newbie at this, so I'll probably purchase your plugin & mess around with that for now. Thanks again! Ryan

@rwh what happened...is there a way to add in our application the option for "user input", and this can be saved like a form? Something except database I mean...
